correct tyre pressure in different circumstances

Recommended Posts

Ok, first....the recommended tyre pressures on the owner's book is the reference.

the followings are different conditions that affect the tyre pressures' reading

(1) parked car under shade but at afternoon time, the road is heated up.

it's recommended to add 2psi per tyre to reflect the changes of tyre temperature.

(2) car has been driven at less than 72km/h (< 40mph) speed for the trip to the gas station.

it's recommended to add 4psi per tyre to reflect the changes of tyre temperature due to the running speed of the very short distance to travel to the gas station.

(3) car has been driven at excess 72km/h (> 40mph) for the trip to the gas station.

it's recommended to add 6psi per tyre to reflect the changes of tyre temperature during a normal daily drive.

*other good reference:

tyre temperature increases 2degree celsius = increase 1psi
