Kimbers has driven over 20,000 miles in a C5, he and his brother tested them at Hethel when they were teenagers one summer!

Just back from my neighbours as they've got sky TV.

Thought the whole programme was good but obviously liked the bit with the Essex. :respect:

I didn't know about the C5's either

Lookin good Barrie!

Just caught it (by complete accident) Got in at 10pm and doing a bit of channel flicking and stumbled accross the programme on Nat Goe +1 I think, as a bit of luck.

Car looked stunning on the track. (Have you been painting the lettering on the tyres again mate?) Looks like Roger Becker still knows how to throw the odd Esprit about.

A credit to you.

Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk - that will teach us to keep mouth shut!

Cheers Ian

No I thought that they only wanted to do some interior shots so I didn't paint the tyres.

Roger Becker said he liked the car which was great.

Hopefully the production company will send me a copy to keep.

Hopefully the production company will send me a copy to keep.

If they dont I have got it saved on Sky+ in HD and will gladly run you a copy off on DVD. Car looked fantastic Barry a real creit to you, but would have liked to here more background, lots of pictures not enough words. It reaffirmed that if I buy a second Esprit it has to be an Essex turbo. :unworthy:

I saw it and thought the first bit was all they were going to do on the Esprit, but then joy of joys there was more!!! I thought his gear changes were a bit clunky in some cases??

Funny how Lotus did alot of consultancy work on the strangest things during the 80's, i seem to recall some tank work they did as well??

Car looked stunning, a real credit to its owner, it was almost like it hadn't been off the production line long.

Adding power makes you faster on the straights. Subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere.

So I've never been accused of being the most up to date person around, but this whole thing is awesome! I only got to see the youtube bit and will try to find the proper Nat Geo program (it was called Britains Greatest Machines I hope). You were very lucky in all of this. I fully understand the trepidation at the car being flogged about by other people.....but it looked amazing and as others have already said, does you credit. Way to go! :-)

Mel Gibson only acted the part

The interesting thing I noticed watching the Youtube Delorean clip was the difference in headroom between the Esprit and Delorean for the same person driving.

If it wasn't for the relief in the gull wing his head would be rubbing. Sad to say I don't see this program series on the US NatGeo site listed yet.

Nice work! Does that mean I need to go back and delete the drunken ramblings?????

Love that! I often wake up in the morning with a hangover thinking "oh shit, what did I write on the forum / twitter / email etc.." and then spend ten minutes shitting myself as I check out said tools!!!  I need to just get drunk when the only technology to hand is a TV and a DVD player. ;)  I did complete not ever getting drunk again, but came to the conclusion that I was just being silly and immature!

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.
