I have been looking for a Lotus Elan Sprint for some while with no success and whilst looking on one of our car sales web sites, I got the idea of purchasing a Mazda MX-5 and spraying it the red and gold colours and then badging it as a Lotus Elan.

Has anyone else thought of this or has it been done already.

Hi

I saw one of those about a year ago. To be honest I love the old Elan and this did actually look really good (I know it hurts me to say it!) Gold leaf colours really suits it. I think it was for sale on Autotrader?

Thanks for the input. Wow it looks fab. but I would have removed the spoiler.

The MX 5's are fairly cheap over here and go for around 4 000 pounds for an early one. Not as cheap as UK I would imagine, but there again, I might find an Elan Sprint in the UK, here that are as rare as hen's teeth.

With regard to the colour scheme that MX5 looks good but don't like the rear lights or spoiler and would loose any Elan badging as its not!!

Very good Roger, you even found a Dalek to match the paint scheme!!!
