What type of grease for track rod ends?

Recommended Posts

I've cleaned and painted my track rod ends which now need re-greasing. Can anybody tell me what sort of grease I should use please? I've got some wheel bearing grease is that okay to use or do I need a particular type?

Thanks, Paul.

Well initially I thought I should replace them as they looked pretty hideous but when I cleaned them up in the rust eater they were fine and the boots weren't split at all so I thought I'd re-use them rather than spend about

Wheel bearing grease is hardy stuff, it withstands high temperatures and highly loaded bearing to bearing contacts, TREs, do very little work in reality.
