matk
Can all intending to come let me know if they're coming in a Lotus or something else exotic (Cliff?) and what exactly it is? I'm trying to organise a display of our cars and need to give the local Marie (council) an indication of what to expect. Also there are a few new wedge owners on here in the new section. Please remember this is an open invite for all. Come on down! Quote Regards Mat

bzguy
I'm interested, only depends on the date I'll take my Esprit probably, although I can as well choose for my Elise S2 111s (bit hard for a long trip ?!) or my recently bought Excel 1984 And off course let's visit Mike as well I'm in Belgium, think I can join you guys somewhere around Lille ? Paul C
Mmm... 'If' i can't fly to NY on wednesday then Iceland is the new Swindon for me. Flip side is we will then fully commit to this i think, as it was always going to be a y/n decision after our holiday but if we don't go then i won't be rebooking straight away while this thing goes on. Just hope the ferry/eurostar is not booked to overflowing because of this ash thing now. Watch the skies...
mike_sekinger
Hey Mat, Is there any update on this? I´d like to suggest a BBQ at my place on one afternoon, for those who want to come and meet the tribe. I know that it´s a free and easy format for the week, but is there any preference on which day and some indication of likely numbers? Looking forward to some more good weather. neill1607
I'll be in Dinan that week. If you post up what day you decide on for the BBQ, me & Dawn will drive down for a day or two to say hi to everyone. Quote Hooligan at heart.

mike_sekinger
Okay - I´m going to suggest 14th July. It is mid-week and also coincidental with a National Holiday. I can naturally re-organise the day, but this is my working assumption for now. Would be useful to have some idea on numbers - just to mke the catering a little more straight-forward. Advantage
Before you write that in ink in your diary, I seem to recall Mat wants to use us for a display in the local village at some point during our stay. Would the national holiday be the day he was thinking of?
matk
I don't think it is, but I'm currently on a whistle stop UK tour and then mad busy back in France over the weekend. I'll update with more details on Monday and some firmer plans. I'm liking the idea of the barbecue Mike, great idea, and for those who don't know he has a fantastic place and a great family! matk
Right, the show is on Sunday 11th July. Could be an interesting day as it's World Cup final day. Hopefully we may have an added interest! I'm assuming Graham, you'll be around for it, so we can use your car? Cliff, Tony C, I'm guessing that as you are coming down after Le Mans, you might be travelling that day Quote Regards Mat
Kimbers
Well the Mrs had said initially that I could go on this as long as she gets to go to see her sister in Malaysia later in the year. Sadly, now I know the dates, I can't go because it's my 10th wedding anniversary on the 10th and we are away for a long weekend in Warwick and Newbury. Quote Possibly save your life. Advantage
Mat, the ferry is booked for the 9th (Friday - landing 11:30 am) so even with my poor sense of direction I should be able to make down to you on time! Don't forget to pm me with details of the bits and pieces you want bringing over. Tony, surely the best anniversary present you could give Wendy would be a week of peace and quiet...? Advantage
Bah, excuses excuses. Warwick Castle can be done in less than an hour (it's not the most exciting of castles) and 'Henge is the same from the A303 as it is close-up, just a bit bigger. That's an afternoon of touristy stuff at most! An evening ferry and job jobbed.
Jonathan
Mat in reposne to PM, would be ace but got zill cash atm Was hoping to be working by now but the fookin money tree doesn't work either ! Mrs has just bought her house so as you can imagine, I can't even mug her into paying for me I'm currently hoping to get a job as head of the tonbridge and kent hospice trust so I can leave after doing a shit job and get a £250,000 pay off - problem is even I couldn't cock it up that badly... matk
No probs Paul, wish you and Vicki were coming but understand why not. Looks now like Bibs and Laura, and GKP arriving Friday, with Cliff and Tony coming down from Le Mans on Sunday. Mike Sekinger Barbecue is now fixed for Monday 12th. If anyone has any dietary requirements can the either PM me, Mike, or post on here? Will be at the Fetes Du Artisans at Le Dorat on Sunday 11th July for some merriment the day before. Also intend to visit Oradour Sur Glanes at some point. Very moving French war memorial village. Would be good for anyone coming to look at this site for more info, as you'll get more idea on the visit if you know a little beforehand. http://www.oradour.info/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oradour-sur-Glane Is there anyone else coming along?
