Let me add one more thing to this thread, just for the sake of keeping related/pertinent information in one place: If you ever have an S1/S2 on a typical two-post lift, the pads should be under the normal spots in the front (as Gavin illustrated with the jack stands), and the rears will most likely have to be inside of the sills (where you put the tire changing jack)...(of course, for as short of a time as necessary). You'll probably have to have the car backwards into the lift compared to how most cars are to make use of the longer pair of arms. Anyway, if you're going to put the car on a lift like this, MAKE SURE THE SPARE TIRE IS IN THE FRONT, AND CONSIDER ADDING A SAND BAG OR OTHER WEIGHT TO THE FRONT, as the car will be in danger of tipping backward and falling off of the lift.
