Yes, and No respectively.

Can be done as is, easier if you dislocate engine and gearbox mounts, slide engine back a fraction and tip it up at the front.

There is a bolt that is in line with the edge of a cam sprocket, it will come out as you move the pump out, but replace it with a cap head bolt for ease.

It's a lot easier with the engine out, but if you have no other reason to remove the engine, do it in situ.

Done it in situ. You will need to cut a small section out of the lip that surrounds the engine in order to get the pump out. It's a tricky job but can be done! Will try and get a pic up.

Here's the pic of the section that I was told needs to be removed. It was already cut out when I got the car but the process was confirmed by a well know specialist.
