ajheath
Hertz have a history of this sort of thing. In the 60's they rented out Mustang GT350's!! Those cars are now very sought after, so maybe these will be too. Sure beats the Citroen C2 or the Pod as we nicknamed it, I had on holiday lat year. Rick Edwards
These guys have been renting the Elise for some time http://www.exoticcarrentalslasvegas.com/lo...e_roadster.html (and were very helpful as well!!) Mark Blanchard
Looks a bit dull. Needs to be black with gold stripes, like the 66' Hertz fastback pony. Here's an old Hertz Lotus from many years ago. Edited July 26, 2011 by Mark B Quote Mark www.lotusespritturbo.com
Kimbers
Avis "Special" rentals rented some Elise's in the past in the UK and a couple of my sites have bought their own to rent. When MJK was at Lotus we negotiated for 30 Elises to rent to our 100 sites around the UK. Unfortunately by the time we agreed a deal it was July and they are really summer rentals so we didn't continue for that reason. Like any rental company if the price vs buyback is right then we would buy anything to rent. What this will do for the Evora is get "bums on seats" which is just what the car needs. WayneB
Be interesting to see how those Evoras take the outright abuse they will recieve as rental cars.
Bibs
I'd imagine that they'd take it very well. Mine is a press car, it's been abused for 14,000 miles and is holding up very well considering! With regards to Evora durability, a friend has recently got rid of his RS4 that he commuted through London in and replaced it with an Evora. The RS4 was falling to bits from the stresses and strains of driving through London, the Evora is doing well so far! WayneB
It was clutch life that concerned me the most. Quite a few people dont really know how to use a clutch properly, resting their foot on the pedal and excessively slipping it. And the fellows who sidestep the pedal at 7000 rpm repeatedly to try and replicate the factorys ultimate 0 to 60 times. All bad for the drivetrain of the car. Of course If the rental Evoras are automatic versions ignore all of the above.....
Kimbers
Most Rental companies will only keep the car for 6-12 months anyway (our company policy is 28 weeks max), so that shouldn't be too much of an issue. On that kind of car we would make it 6 months definately. Quote Possibly save your life. Check out this website.http://everyman-campaign.org/ Distributor for 'Every Male' grooming products. Bibs
I'd imagine that Hertz check these cars a little closer on their return than the usual 'keys in the letterbox' too!
