Took the red one out for a car club run today and whilst parking the car, the rubber mat, which I have to protect the carpet, worked itself up the side of the accelerator and the revs ran wild before I killed the engine's ignition.

I have now screwed the rubber mat in place into the carpet.

For some reason, the return spring on the throttle is not high, but I would worry that if I increase the tension at the throttle bodies, it would increase the wear on the Bowden cable.

Apart from the Esprit there was only one other Lotus 7 clone, but look at our Winter weather. Wow, what a lovely day.

As you say.... a close call.

virtually every car I have had has a problem with matts developing a mind of their own. The Nissan 300ZX had a good solution and the matts attached to the floor with turn screw locks. Very sensible.

As for your weather, I woudl happily swap your winter weather for summer in Devon. more rain and gale force winds today!!
