Tell Tale Bulb Replacement

Sorted my electrical gremlins by replacing the alternator. Car is now perfect, except the battery tell tale has blown. Anyone out there replaced these bulbs? Any advice? The service manual I have describes the pre 98 dash (boomerang) removal but not the revised. Any thoughts appreciated.

Accessing the rear of the binacle is dead easy on a post 98.

There are 2 allen bolts that screw up into the housing from beneath, one in front of the tacho and the other in front of the speedo. Undo these then pull the lid forward then lift up and it's away.

You should be able to get at the bulbs easy enough, but if you want to the whole unit can be easily removed. There are 2 screws either side at the front and 2 bolts at the rear. Once these are removed unplug the 2 electrical connectors then you can lift the complete unit out.

edited to add you may find that the bulb has just fallen out of the back as they're not that well held in place

Anyway, removing the 98 binnacle is a piece of piss. Look from below at the bit which overhangs the gauges. You'll see two allen key screws. Remove these, slide forward and up and it comes free...
