Electric Green

Recommended Posts

HI,

Im new to forum I currently own a 2001 S1 Exige, which im in the process of having complete rebuild.

whilst its in pieces ive decided to get the car resprayed,

A freind mentioned that the GT3 Esprit was once sold in a colour called electric green.. I have looked everywhere for a picture of one in that colour but its proving to be very elusive.

Does anyone happen to have a photo or image of that colour on an esprit in the daylight so I could get an idea of what the colour exactly looks like?

Ive managed to find a picture of the elise 190 which was apparently painted in the same colour for the motor show, buts its a very poor picture and I can not get any ideas of what car looks like in daylight.

Thanks

Quo

It's the Esprit in this article below. I have a few photos if you want them emailing to you, but I think there may be an owner on here who may spot this shortly. I think there were only 3 sold in this colour.

HI,

Ah those photos are perfect, some more would be good, going to try and get someone to photo shop my exige in that colour, I fancy something a little different.

On another note I see that Lotus list 2 paint codes for the electric green B27 and B101 anyone have any ideas what the differences are and which one was used on that esprit in the photo?

will pm my email address.

thanks

Is the GT3 the only one to be released in Electric Green?

I see Medina green also which might be the 2 other esprits in this thread but not 100% certain..

As far as I know there was only 2, maybe 3, GT3' s painted in Electric green oh and 1 Elise.

The GT3 in Graham's picture was a factory press car and was due to be painted a different green, B29 from memory but dont quote me, but was changed at the last moment hence the vin plate has B29 on it but it is actually B27. Had some paint made up for it, from memory its a Dupont VW colour

To nick another one of Graham's pictures here is the car at the 2006 when I took it to the factory event :)

Christian, your photochoppage pic doesn't look to be the same colour as Electric Green. But for an "In your face but with some discretion" colour I think you'll be fine with Electric. It's certainly not such an obvious choice as Scandal or Renault Liquid Yellow etc. and it's all the better for that.

Stop faffing about on the internet and get painting! :)

Are we talking about the 3rd car along in the top photo as being the one I bought from Neil Hodson?

For an Exige I'd go for something more that's more of aggressive colour than the electric green. Although electric would be (probably) unique, I'd have thought a really vivid solid colour would be more in keeping with the size (generally, smaller cars are more able to carry off a solid colour than a larger car) and the sheer nature of an Exige (I'm sure no Esprit comes close to handling).
