Time machine question, pick two people you would want to meet:

So if you could go back in time and meet two people?

tardis.jpg

I guess most folk have a time they would like to have been in, a person they

would like to have met, maybe family, maybe someone famous, maybe watching

someone famous do a cartain thing (gig, record, race win, etc).

Pick TWO people.

One related to you personally,

one famous/historic.

My two people:

FAMILY

My real grandad. Mum was orphaned at four years old, her dad died when she was

three and is buried in Algeria. Here is a picture of his grave marker at the El Alia Cemetery:

I'd like to go back and see him at work there, see his mates, see what kind of guy

he was. When he was killed there must have been guys that said 'Robert is dead'

men that carried him. After the war there must have been guys that served with

him and remembered him. There has been nobody to tell me what he was like, so

he'd be my family choice to go back, just to watch, listen to maybe.

FAMOUS

Dylan Thomas. There is nobody on the planet that comes close, even as a second choice.

I have long had a lot of interest in this guy, his life as much as his work. I have read various

books and biographies, his work, his letters, and i have been to his homes and drinking holes

in Laugharne. He lived where i live for a while, and i sometimes walk into town and drink in a

pub that he did. I'm not sure i'd want to meet him to shake his hand, but i'd like to spend an

evening in a pub when he and his wife were drinking, maybe london in the late 30's when his

third book was out to great acclaim while was partying and raising hell in 'reasonable' health,

maybe he could stand on a table and boom out the odd poem...

Duh thats easy - I'd do the Arnold Rimmer / Biff thing and go back in time to myself and give me the historic lottery winners book 1999-2009 :o

Failing that I'd give that book to my Dad or something....too easy.

Famous....considering the language barrier thats a tough one.

I'd probably go back to see the Head of the CIA just before 9/11 and let him know of a little terrorist plot, then again they'd probably not listen...is it me or did the world seemed better back before then ?

Butterfly effect and all....who knows ?

The brother I had who died before I was born. I obviously have no emotional attachment at all, but have always wondered what it would have been like to have grown up with a Brother.

Famous - If not the late ACBC, would love to have met and chated with the one and only Ayrton Senna.

Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk - that will teach us to keep mouth shut!

What a good question.

It's difficult to narrow it down to one person but, if I had to, I think Jesus Christ to see what he was like and if he seemed to be who people say he was.

Family is easier. My father's parents died well before I was born, my maternal grandmother died the night before I was born and my maternal grandfather died when I was 3 so I either never met or don't remember my grandparents so I would like to meet them.

Mind you, there's a bunch of people I would like to meet who are still around. Oh for an hour with Bernie Ecclestone and a truth drug.

Hmmm interesting.

My Great Grandfather who was a Goldsmith and made all the clock casings for the Titanic. He was also a bare knuckle fighter and gambler and died from a brain hemoerage after a fight. leaving my Grandad at 12 yrs old to raise hsi brothers and sisters.

Famous person? I would love to go back to Roman times and meet Augustus Caeser prior to his latter career in Rome, when he was still a General. I'd really love to see if he was the enigmatic General and leader that everything points to.

Interesting question...

Not sure its good to meet ex members of family, but have never met my Dad, so it makes you wonder.

I would love to meet Neil Armstrong - need I say more?

This book is guaranteed to NOT change your life…but it does mention a Lotus Esprit...

Good question.

Personal answer is very easy. I want to meet my parents. They died in accident when I was one. We had a crash with train and I was only survivor.

Public is more difficult. Michael Jackson maybe?

hey...no one thinks of going back in time and marry Princess Diana before Prince Charle?

that will definitely change the course of history.

or be at the night Princess Diana die, and change history by stopping the accident (like changing the driver or delay the driving)

Tazio Nuvolari, the greatest ever racing driver.

Audrey Hepburn, the most beautiful women inside and out.

Roger....oh, your answer reminds me of that "video" of a Ferarri racing in downtomn Paris with the "secret driver"

it would be cool to be there at the finish line, and meet the driver.

or, to find out who killed JFK

i know that's not the correct answer on this topic but i'm happy as i am

i don't want to go back for a hump or a good glas of wine

sure would have liked to know 9/11 was coming up

would have sold my stock's but the only way to benefit would have been not telling anybody

i couldn't live with the knowledge saving my stock's but killing a few thousand.

sorry
