bosbon_be 4
I installed a custom chargecooler and al its components. I did not fill it up with coolant yet. Before I do, do my carburators need rejetting or are they rich enough for the cooled air? Regards, Peter. Lotus Esprit Turbo HC.
USAndretti42 308
They should be self-compensating in as much as the depression at the jets depends on the air density so the colder, denser air wil draw in more fuel with the same jets. Whether it will be enough is best checked on a rolling road. I would start with the standard jets and get it checked out before you thrash it. Andy67 0
I always thought when adding a chargecooler to a carb turbo version it would require re-jetting ? But stand to be corrected....
USAndretti42 308
Andy, I'm not saying it won't need re-jetting. More that it may not need as big a jet change as expected. That's why I suggested getting it on a rolling road rather than just guessing new jet sizes. THe other thing, of course, is we don't know how effective the intercooler will be in this application. bosbon_be 4
The chargecooler is a pace chargecooler (double the size of a Lotus), the radiator in the front is the original from lotus (thanks to Bibs and Bell and Colvill) Just added some picutres of the installation. It's a tight fit.

th4neuk 0
In a way it depends if you are now going to up the boost with having the chargecooler fitted. On mine I had it rejetted to cope with a max of 1 bar boost after I fitted the chargecooler setup. Was good for 289bhp on the RR.
