The correct size for the fronts is 235-40-17. I am running 305-35-18 on the rear without issues.

Sanj, Don't you have wider than 10" wheels ?

On a 18x10 wheel I think 295/35-18 is it? Could be wrong though.

I've got two sets of wheels -- one is standard V8 OZ Futuras, but with 305/35-18 tires on the rear (18x10"). Stock tire size is 285/35-18. The other set has a 17x10.5" rear wheel with 315/35-17's. Fronts are both standard V8 size, 235/40-17 on a 17x8.5" rim.

I would not use a 45-series tire on the front, though a 245/40-17 would likely be OK on a V8.

You can vary tyre size by 20mm either way without a problem.

305 ? Dont you have issues with the wall deforming ?

I haven't noticed any issues, other than perhaps a slight softness in response to fast transitions on the track.

Interesting, I was thinking of putting larger tyres on to mask the ride height the GT3 has without dropping it on the springs and though the best way to do this was the tyre, your 305's obviously have a larger rolling radius than a 285 for the same ratio, but was....lets say...convinced otherwise. Might try it next time around.
