LEW Oxford Meeting

Recommended Posts

The first of LEW's regular Oxford Meetings will be held on Sunday 23rd April 2006. So put it in your diaries as it should not be missed. As ever the meeting is evolving and after the success of the last meet at Heythrope Park, we are planning to start and fininsh there. A great location for a day of Esprit action.

The day should run as ever, with a start around 10am. Time for chatting and looking over the cars, then a run around 11am on a pre-planned route for which maps will be supplied. Meeting back at Heythrope for more chatting and then a 2 course meal in the Parks grounds. Followed by a talk by engineers from Lotus, then a short questions & answers session and any announcements that are needed with regards to LEW, LEF or the community in general. See our last Meet here.

Engineers from Lotus should be on hand most of the day for any questions you have. Those who have been before will know how great it is to have people with that much experience on hand. With the Lotus Suspension and gearshift service kits being launched around this time (no date as yet). They'll have plenty to talk about!

Due to the chaos at our last meeting when sorting the meals out, we will be taking bookings in advance for the meal. Payment upfront will be needed if you wish to attend the meal and talk by Lotus, as we have already paid a deposit to Heythrope for the day. Details on booking your place will follow shortly. Payments will be in the normal way, bank transfer, paypal or personal cheque.

If all goes well we plan to lay on another Oxford Meet in August/September time with roughly the same format.

We look forward to seeing you all on the day.

Wow, St Georges day too...........trust everyone will be decked out in true St Georges regalia, none of this UK/Union Jack nonsense.

Have put it in my diary. Hopefully we'll create a convoy from NMEG and the boys from the North West.

I will be there, great time last year and great venue

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

Put me down as a maybe.

If possible I would like to meet up with the North of England contingent on the way down , although I'll need to leave about 0200hrs. to arrive at a decent time.

Mmm.......think I'd better order a new timing belt and assemble my emergency tool kit.

If anyone else from Scotland is thinking of going down (titter , titter) please contact me.

I'll be sure to come decked out with a shamrock flag :)

Sounds good.  Hopefully can make it - my sister lives in Oxford, but she's a marathon addict and it's the same day as London Marathon!!  Still, I'd love to come along and meet everyone!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

So in her absence, why not rent out her house to those who want to stop overnight. You could make a shilling or two. Might even cover the cost of your petrol :)

Er, nice try! But she doesn't live alone and I don't think her partner would be too keen on a load of people crashing the pad!

Can image in the road, though - would look pretty good with 4 or 5 Esprits parked outside!! :P:P

Hey Nigel if my car is ready I'll think seriously about going down to this meeting... work has started again on her and my target is donnington so end of April sounds doable and it's almost on my birthday too so would be great to go down south in my pride and joy..

OK Mark , although I'm still down as a maybe.

In the meantime , I live in North Queensferry so if you are wanting to take your car for a "test run" you should come over (the speed bumps aren't in yet).

The last time a seen another Esprit on the road was about 5 years ago.

I live opposite the entrance to Deep Sea World.
