Anyone changed their boot/trunk carpets?

I had my car about a week and I burnt a hole in my boot carpet.

I was changing the oil filter and whilst going through a selection of oil filter removal tools in my garage I left my inspection light (100w bulb) lying on the carpet.

I wasn't too concerned as the carpets were a bit tired looking anyway.

SJ doesn't appear to list them although they do list "black button fasteners" ?

Do Lotus sell them or has anyone made their own set?

if you have the originals, i'd suggest cutting your own carpets with a utility knife, then binding the edges on a home sewing machine with a thick needle inserted.

If you don't want to cut the carpet yourself, take the old carpets out anyway and take them to any good Auto Body shop. Try to use a good wool carpet. The extra cost is worth it. It's more expensive than doing it yourself, but you'll be happier having someone else cut and edge the carpet.

The carpets don't seem to hold up with all the heat coming through the rear window in North America. Mine are very tired and I'll be changing them out this spring (1988).
