Holy sh!t. You're lucky to have that much of an obsession for anything and keep a girlfriend at the same time :lol: My obsession with feet turns most girls off to me, but at least I don't put my collection in a display case

I really need to get some of these ones out of the attic, though they are a bit big for the dining room. The P5 is 1/10 I think and a foot long

i2897986_99737_4.jpg

Though not as big as this puppy, 1/4 I think and 2 feet long! Its a fixer-upper, never had time to start it but should be impressive when done. Might struggle persuading the missus about displaying it.

Wow, some great 70's supercar models!

  Got boxes of model cars in the loft too.  Will have to get them down sometime.

I truly worship at the church of Ebay! When I was little back in the 70s I would have spilt blood for something like a model of the Ferrari P5 (I can still remember being dragged empty handed out of a Scarborough toyshop containing a Dinky one!) and now its a doddle! I've also got some nice unmade kits of thing like the Ital Design Nazca, the aforementioned P5 by Nitto, and the Caspita Jiotto (or is that Jiotto Caspita?) which was a smart Japanese supercar unfortunately drowned in the glut of 200mph+ supercars produced at the beginning of the 90s.

I'm no expert but in 5 years of daily Ebay immersion the biggest "good" diecast model of the Carabo is the Politoys version (1/28 I think) as shown above. Togi did a very expensive 1/24 diecast but it was shit frankly. Solido do a nice 1/43, and there must be resin kits like AR and Yow Modelli.

The biggest I have is this foot-long RE-EL former radio control plastic, not very accurate in detail though;

i6019538_97771_4.jpg

The RE-EL is from the same range and scale as the big red Ferrari P5 above. The Ital Deign Caimano in the pic is a similar scale by Sige. These big old wire/remote and friction-drive plastic models don't really lend themselves to display in the home but they are fun and often the only decent sized models you can get of this era of concepts; everyones a bit spoiled these days by almost limitless 1/18s. I'm on the lookout for a big Bertone Barchetta by Meccano if anyone spots one

Speaking of plastic heres a couple of old 1/24 Airfix kits, a Pininfarina Dino Competizione (still looking for the diecast Eidai version) and an S1 Esprit (good colour don't you think?). The Corvette is a copy of the really cool chopped down speedster-style concept by ASC that should have been made instead of the convertible. I don't bother with plastic kits anymore, too fragile with kids around, not to mention the missus' duster... :lol:

I hadn't noticed that, it does a bit doesn't it? Front light shape is the same I think, and the whole Group-C cab-forward bit. I thought it had some very clever and neat detailing for its time, and compared to what would have been its competition (Bugatti, XJ220, ugh!). The interior featured resin bound powdered leather which was sprayed on the panels to give a luxury seam-free finish, whilst weighing a fraction of cow hides, very clever.

A bit late on this one, but here is my model collection.

Mainly significant Le Mans cars and winners from 1964 through to 2000. Stopped collecting when Audi kept winning.

There are a few road cars as well and my favourite 1/8 scale Pocher F40.

Like most things I get into, they have a tendancy to get out of control :(

Cheers,
