Just joind the forum today and thought I would say hello to all you Guys (and Gals) out there.

I am English and live in Germany near Frankfurt. I imported a 1994 US spec S4 from Arizona last year in July. This was a real adventure with the customs authorities but well worth while in the end.

I have had all the usual problems such as red clutch pipe syndrome, petrol smell, bonnet coming open at high speed with headlamps on, dodgy clutch, etc, etc. :P

I still love her and especially here in Germany. I is still possible to drive at high speed and concentrate on the road and not looking to see if there is a Police car following or a Radar Camera round the next corner!! :D

I bought her because I wanted a British Car and not a Porsche - I made the right choice.

I will participate in the chat forums if I can add anything interesting.

All the best

Ian.

Welcome Ian,

When you're ready, we need to see pics.

Check out the Forum's 'Garage Facility' in the top right corner of the page.

A bit of fun. :D

Hi Ian,

I am from Bonn/Cologne - so there might be some opportunity to meet for a beer

You could have a look at http://www.lotus-club-deutschland.de They do some local meetings, so you could chat with some fellow German Lotus nuts...

Ciao,

I can't seem to be able to add a picture to my postings. :D

The system comes back and says that the feature is not enabled.

Is this a problem with the firewall or has it really not been enabled?

Visited my Baby last night at Ramspott & Brandt. Will have to fill and paint the holes left by the old standard wing - oh well it's only money !!

Can't wait to get her back on the road again. B)

Below is a generic blurb which I wrote up a while back - it may help. Otherwise TechnoBibs may have to intervene.

Generic 'Adding Picture' Blurb

Here's a rough guide.

Firstly you'll need to get a digital image of your car either by scanning a photo or using a digital camera.

Once you have the digital image (usually in a 'jpeg' form) you'll need to upload the image to an online site - and there are hundreds. Sometimes your internet service provider will offer you free webspace to upload on, or alternatively you can use a free upload site like:

www.showoffyourcar.com

Just go to the site, register for free, and you can then upload images of your car from your hard drive. I think the size of pictures on this site is limited to 800 x 600, which is about right for this forum.

Once your favourite pics have been uploaded successfully you can then click on the online image to open it in a new window. Once the new window has opened and loaded - right click on the image, and then left click on properties. Hilite the 'Address URL' (this is your web shortcut). Right click again and then left click on 'Copy'.

Hopefully you have this forum up and running.

After typing your blurb, place the cursor where you want your pic to go and click on the 'Img' button once (located above). Right click and then left click on paste. Hopefully the shortcut you copied earlier can now be seen. Click on 'Img' again - and that's about it. You can continue typing if you wish, or add another image.

To view the image (to see if it has worked) click on the 'Preview' button (below). Your post with embedded image should appear. Once your happy with the result click on 'Submit'.

Hope this helps.

End of Generic Blurb
