Lotus Forums Fantasy Formula 1 League - 2010

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks

Sorry I am a bit late in getting the team sheets out but now is your chance to show just how much you know about the Formula 1 world by entering The Lotus Forums Fantasy Formula 1 League! (…or just wing it with a random selection, the choice is yours!)

The first race is this weekend on Sunday 14th March in Bahrain.

All you have to do is make selections from the groups below and I will put them in a league table and update the scores after each race.

Points will be awarded on the same basis as last year for qualifying and race positions although we may spice things up a bit by adding wild cards in during the season.

Last entries for teams will be 06:30 Friday 12th March 2010.

Anyway.....all you have to do is pick TWELVE drivers (two each from Groups A,B & D and three from groups C and E).

You also pick FOUR constructor teams (ONE each from Groups F, G, H & I) who you think will perform best over the season.

Your F1 Dream Team selections will score valuable points - or lose them (e.g. black flag?naughty naughty!!) - depending on how they perform in each Grand Prix. The better they do, the better your F1 Dream Team does.

If any of your selections in the driver groups leave or do not race for their constructor teams for any reason, their replacement will automatically take the place of your selection. Their replacement will start to score points for you with immediate effect.

For example, if you select the previous F1 champ Lewis Hamilton in Group A and he quits or gets injured, your Group A selection will become the driver who replaces him in his new car at McLaren.

If any of your selections in the constructor team groups stops racing for any reason, the points that selection has accumulated for you will be frozen on your overall score.

The scoring matrix is the same as the one used last year, you will see how it works by looking at last years thread

Last year

or checking your score after the first race.

The final standings in the 2009 LEF Fantasy Formula 1 Competition were:

Well done Paul, lets see if you can retain the Championship in 2010

Wow! Hard choices this year. I really wanted to be supposrtive of our boys but i don't think Lotus will score many points, not comnpared to the likes Of Buemi. Also really wanted Scumacher and Hamilton but I really do think that the class of the field this year will be the Ferrari's and Red Bulls. Managed to Squeeze in Button against Webber, merely because Webber is the unluckiest driver since Johnny Herbert.

Hmmm interesting selections. In another fantasy league last year I was 25th overall or something with 2,500 players but I sat out the first race before selecting a strong Brawn style line up. My other pre season teams were useless so not holding out much hope here.

Me too.

What people overlook is that with a terrible car last year he got results. He's like Scumacher. Give him a pile of crap and he'll be in contention. Give him a good car and he'll win everything.

Currently, with Red Bull, from testing and info coming out from teams, the Ferrari is fastest. With Alonso at the wheel I think it's likely he'll win lots of races.

Well with Shumy back again this year ( I see he is one of your selections Howard ) then I am sure he will either crash in to someone else if its going to help his cause… or possibly park his car in the middle of the circuit again at Monaco??
