door hinge Eclat

Recommended Posts

Ive got a worn door hinge on my Eclat. The door doesnt closes very well anymore because the heavy door is hanging down about 2 cm. I didnt remove the door so far.

How can I repair that?

Lotusbits is offering a new door hinge pin and rebushed doorhinges. Does this do any help?

Thanks for your help.

Matt

How's the door beam itself.

When I did mine on the Excel the bottom edge of the beam was rotten.

The sagging was the beam flexing, not the hinge.

The beam for the Excel was about £50 ex Lotusbits at the time.

If you have to strip it down for the extra you might just as well change the beam while your at it.

Drop the door card and have a good look first.

Thanks for you help! I will check the beam....

Looks like my beam is fine. Just litte rust. It seems to be just the hinge.

Has someone repaired that hinge? What to look for? How to do it?

Thanks Matt

Are the bushes on the hinge pins OK?

One of mine was missing completely and the door sagged quite noticeably

I did change the hinge and the bushes a couple of days ago. But its quite complicated! I had to disassemble the whole door for that.

Otherwise it was impossible to pull the pin out. Now its all fine again.

Does anybody know an easier way?

Thanks M.
