ian4455
Are the tyre diameters different on GoodYear 235/60/15VR to GoodYear 235/60/15ZR ?
MPx
No...diameter should be the same. The difference is the width of the contact patch. The correct VR has a 7 block pattern tread width and quite a square shoulder section. The ZR has a 6 block tread width and very rounded sidewalls. The effect is that the ZRs look much narrower despite having the same nominal size. ian4455
Ok thanks, should look ok from the side on at least. Edited April 1, 2010 by ian4455
MPx
Yeah...I've got them on mine. I mourn the passing of the VRs but the ZRs aren't too bad from the side - definitely not as good though. I'm really hoping the classic size manufacturers take pity on us soon. Quote Loving Lionel and Eleanor......missing Charlie and Sonny
thom_77
I didn't know that Goodyear made a Z-rated in that size?

MPx
I didn't know that Goodyear made a Z-rated in that size? They dont any more Tom but they were available (old stock I believe) for a year or two after the VRs ran out. molemot
Goodyear actively prohibit fitting the ZR 6 block tyres to Esprits..they are for Jaguar XJ-S cars. And don't work anywhere near as well on an Esprit..as I found out when I tried them! ian4455
All this carry on with Tyres...You'd think Lotus or a Classic Tyre Manufacturer would get something sorted for the Esprit and get some made !
