Vague Gearbox ? The Answer !

Recommended Posts

On a bit of a roll tonight , third post in an evening !!!

Recently installed a Trueleo Shifter kit Trueleo and cable kit from Simply Sport Lotus Gear cable and what a difference ...... night and day .

A little history, previously had an 05 Exige Toyota NA before purchasing the 2-11 approx six months ago .

Both cars had the same gearshift problem , mushy and vague at best .

Now the shift is short , sharp and direct . Complete control and no more fudging to find the gear , slides directly in.

The less pressure exerted seems to make the shift even crisper .

It even works better under mild panic situations.[ cant find bloody third ....... wont go into second ...... etc ]

Out of 10 the Trueleo kit on its own gets a 9 , add in the cable from Simply Sport and its a 9.9 [ nothings perfect]

Both kits are straightforward to install and instructions are good .

Freight was cheap from both companies, so that was a bonus also.

I also rate the letsla gear linkage. Easy to fit and as long as you take time to get the adjustments right well worth it.

I don't have the ssc cables as after the letsla I didn't see the pressing need.

The cable does improve the gearshift , but agreed it is mostly the Trueleo/ Letsla Kit that helps the most.

Kinda what I figured. Decided that if I need to replace a cable then I will use the SSC but it's more hassle than the letsla kit so will stay stock until then.

Surprised the kit hasn't taken off over here - the quality of the fabrication is superb and the bearings are top notch. Support from the designer is also excellent and I've received 2 new parts from the states free of charge where the designer has received feedback and made alterations to the design. I guess it is expensive but once you've got it in place you'll never go back.
