I've always wanted a TVR, but have never been able to bring myself to buy one as they are so badly made. I don't know anyone who owns one who hasn't had to spend an absolute fortune upgrading and fixing their cars in order to get them to some level of reliability. I was extremely close to putting the £5k deposit down for the upcoming new car, but again, too much risk. Still think the Cerbera, T350 and Sagaris are visually stunning though as long as you don't inspect them too closely!

When I bought my first Esprit it was a choice of that of a Chim. How different things would be if I'd made the wrong decision!

Don't get me wrong - it's a phenomenal car, but the ownership proposition is pretty hardcore.  As I said, the noise is pretty full on and rapidly becomes wearing.  It's lighter than a fag paper, and pretty brutal to drive.

I came very close to buying a Tuscan S, but the reality was too daunting to swallow.  (Funnily enough, the OH says that to me quite regularly... :P )

They do make a lovely noise. Bet you wish you'd bought a Tuscan now with prices flying through the roof!

I will have to disagree with you all re TVR. I owned a T350C 54 reg for 3 years only selling due to the birth of my first kid meaning I had to buy a sensible family car (M5....well it had 4 doors). Without doubt the tiv was the best car I have owned. Never had issues with it and was a real event to drive no matter the occasion. Don't get me wrong it had it's "tvr ness" but that is part of the fun of owning such a car. It's actually why I bought the Evora as my next toy as I needed something to give me that event feel (plus the fun of some "lotus ness").

I know I am probably in the minority on this but I can only comment on my experiences.

It's also why I had to upgrade the exhaust to a 2ubular to try and match the sound I had on the TVR...! Lovely to drive in the dry.  Like bambi on ice in the rain. Never failed to get stared at, commented or let out of junctions with it (all of which the Evora is now doing) .

Would I buy one again? No as I need 4 seats to take my boys out with me. If I only needed 2 seats then I would go for the Saggy but the prices are extraordinary. I am only gutted i sold my T350 just before they exploded in price ?

Anyway was just a post to give my 50p on my personal TVR experience. They not all bad....a little like some Lotus's!

As I said above - it's a phenomenal car.  Like any brand - pre-conceptions can be a double edged sword.  I certainly don't have a downer on TVRs.

Never owned one myself - but was close friends with the owner of the Tuscan I nearly purchased, who gently talked me out of it... as at the time I was recently divorced and effectively skint!

As JAWS said - pictures, please :)

Gorgeous!

maybe im biased.

I've been looking at this thread for weeks and weeks. I've looked at it starting at page 1, I've looked at it starting at page 50 and I've started from the middle  never quite thought I'd be seeing a car I could mine now in it.

Ps, got anymore?
