Popular Post cdco
So had the time and opportunity to do a TD I've wanted to do for years ... Silverstone this has to be my favourite picture of the various track days I've done over the years. These I'm happy with as well The only problem I had was sliding around in the Recaros and having to brace myself in various ways. Anyone know of an affordable harness bar ?
Gold FFM TdM Posted November 16, 2022 Gold FFM Report Share Posted November 16, 2022 Nice pic that first one, look at the lateral load on the rear tyre, it's hanging off the rim 😁

Found the grip limits of a PS4S on a number of occasions... Luckily none ended up with a significant excursion though this was close 1

Popular Post pixelmix
One of the wettest Novembers on record in the area... so obviously I got the Evora out yesterday and drove up the road to Glencoe. Damp and misty when I left home but thankfully the forecast was correct: it was indeed drier in the west for a change. The sun was out for a glorious drive up onto Rannoch Moor (but you'll have to take my word for it since I drove past all of the usual photo spots to park up here on the cloudy side of Buachaille Etive Mòr for a run). A drive of two halves though: too wet around the local section so I was tip toeing around through the puddles.
Rambo
Great photo of "the Buachaille" And the Evora, of course. It almost looks like there had been a cloud inversion,

Popular Post Yan
Went for an epic 4 day journey through the Australian "Alps" (hills to the Europeans). Swapped cars with some 911 GT3 owners for some of it. They can keep their GT3's. Wow, the GT430 Sport is a much, much better drive than all of them. The 991.2 generation just felt heavy and sluggish to react in comparison, the 996.2 was fun, but slower. The Evora felt so much more nimble and connected when jumping back into it.

The 996 owner loved it, but he liked the Cayman GT4 even better. He likes the directness and feedback the GT430 brings. He also had an S2 Exige previously, so he knows the Lotus vibe. I didn't have time to sample the GT4. A comparison I am looking forward to. The 991 owners also commented the GT430 felt lighter and was fast, and only seemed to go one speed - quick! I think they appreciate the dual personality of the GT3. But that comment on the all or nothing approach of the Evora is exactly why I love it. It feels special at any speed. Of the two GT3's, the 996 feels closer to the Evora than the 991. The 991 just feels too modern and disconnected for my liking, despite its genuine everyday usability. One guy who drove all the cars but owns neither Lotus nor Porsche is currently checking the Emira configurator. 😁
Gold FFM Barrykearley Posted November 25, 2022 Gold FFM Report Share Posted November 25, 2022 I drove a 996 carrera 4s thing the other week. a soul-less piece of shit. Quote Only here once
Gold FFM C8RKH Posted November 26, 2022 Gold FFM Report Share Posted November 26, 2022 @Yan thank you for taking the time to provide that feedback. Much appreciated. It seems that your Porsche friends are indeed driving enthusiasts and they have, it feels, provided some genuine, considered feedback and not the usual Porsche is the best Bull Shit. A GT4 is tempting, so your feedback when you do get to drive one would be great. I have looked at a few early model 996 GT3 ClubSports. Not yet driven one but hopefully will. Popular Post Spinney
As this is the Evora picture thread! 😁 It’s on a wall inside a train ticket office in Lisbon that we were in earlier this week, so obviously had to be snapped. 7 1
