My new acquisition. Can't believe I've finally got one!

Are we talking about Racing Green Lotus'?  Here's the most recent one of it being clean, at Caffeine & Machine. 8,300 miles in five months means it's rarely clean!

Some impressiones from the Nürburgring 26-27.07.20 (driver corse XL Nordschleife) in the third photo you can see the vehicles of my training group there were a total of 20 groups.

I fitted a Sport Racer gearknob to mine recently :)

Had this done also last week. Looks great. Only disadvantage is in cold weather until the car gets warm. You could freeze to the shifter.

£5 in the local Tesco car wash seems too much sometimes...

I wouldn't say they're the worse set of pics I've seen of the car but they're up there in almost every respect. Bad exposure, bad composure, filthy car, very poor location choices, same 5'8" 3/4 view, poor background checking.

How is this the work of a professional journalist? Lazy, lazy, lazy...

I did sent an email in to Hethel saying that they weren't the best pics I've ever seen but they'd already requested that they shouldn't have been published. I'd hope they'll be more careful about who gets their press cars in the future, I couldn't see another manufacturer letting a journo have a car which such low production standards and even with 'citizen journalism', minimum standards still apply.

TLF and our photographers have had to invest many, many thousands in camera equipment and hundreds of hours learning how to take a good image. You can park up, grab your smartphone and expect to get any sort of credibility.

  • 2 weeks later...

Unusually, it wasn't tipping it down with rain this morning, so I took the opportunity to clean off several weeks of filth and then stood back to admire my handiwork :B)

Img_1115_1280.jpg

It's currently on it's winter wheels and tyres - Yokohama w.drives. Although we haven't haven't had any snow or significant icy conditions yet, I'm pretty impressed with them. In normal conditions I haven't noticed any significant difference to the Pirelli's in terms of ride quality, noise, grip or handling and they certainly cope admirably with significant standing water!

I've got the Pirelli's on a nice set of the Evora forged alloys, so I'm looking forward to getting them put on in the Spring.

The black sills make much a big difference, should come like that from the factory. :)

   I do like the GTE front end.  Just a shame so bloody expensive unless things have changed.  Gives the car so much more attitude.  Still not convinced on the GTE rear spoiler although not seen in the flesh and fom that angle actually looks fine. It also seems to suit some colours better.

Agreed, but the OEM front has the significant advantage of being made of resilient plastic - in contrast to the Elise. Carbon is nice, but not really the right stuff for something you call "bumper". You'd have to call it front "cracker" instead. :gathering:

Hi Neil

agree regarding the Yokos, they are perfect for winter driving and very good in cold or heavy rain.

I put the Pirellis on my nice set of forged alloys and ran them for a week. they look epic. Lets hope spring is not too far away.

cheers
