Just picked up Dexter after his few days with Paul Wilkins who must surely be one of the most talented car detailers on the planet; but fortunately based only 15 minutes from home.

He's only had cold water jet washing for 6 months over winter and 8,000+ miles. Sooooo pleased Paul has been able to make him look totally stunning again ready for this weekend's TLF extravaganza.

Repainted grills, machine polished plastic bits, special matt paint rejuvenation, wheels off and made like new again with seven different treatments, and loads of other stuff.

Fantastic to see every detail of Dex pretty much back to how he was the day he was born. ?

I think I desperately need a machine polish, I noticed from new my prep was garbage, and when I polished the car last weekend it hit home how poor my car is with swirls etc, and I've only probably washed it three times! @snoboardr has your man become any more reliable?

I'd say so - finding him at his unit can be hit and miss still when you want if you haven't pre-arranged, but he's been much better at having the car ready when he says he will and communication by phone/text isn't so random.

I think a couple of years ago he was having dramas relating to the business he was part of which I don't really wanna go into on a public forum, as also I don't know all the gory details. But anyway, he left the unit they had in Kirkcaldy and set up on his own in this new place in Glenrothes.

I wouldn't say Paul is the most organised chap in the world; but we'd arranged a couple of weeks ago for me to take Dex in one this Monday and Paul was clear I *definitely* needed him back on time for this weekend, and we agreed a Thursday evening deadline and that's what happened.

Don't blame me though if you're not happy with the service you get But, particularly with actually shiny cars, I'd say his #skillz are way up there.

Andy, try USA (Ultimate Shine Autos) in Stirling.  Website tells you everything.  Ask for Trevor and tell him I suggested getting in touch.  They are true enthusiasts and his Dad has a fleet of exotic so fully understands.  Married into a Lotus loving family I'm friendly with and his FIL has a 2-11 so has to embrace Lotus values!  I take mine there annually.  PM or e-mail if you want more info.  My son is taking his unloved metallic Black city car MX5 there on the 13th for a full machine polish and by god it needs it.  It is a full on pre-sale tart up to sell from my drive after he gets his Elise.  I can give you feedback afterwards.  We could arrange a day when I was on leave & I could ferry you back & forth and go for a drive or whatever.

Ive just bought a DApolisher and the various pads, creams and lotions etc.

Was going to try it on the wife first to get technique right before I tackled my beloved Scarlett! Will post up pictures as I've got a lot of swirl marks on my red evora too Colin. Maybe its the red paint shows them off more???
