Q1: Can anyone tell me if there is a better liner sealant than the Hylomar?

This has been used since 2000, just wondered if anything better has come along since.

Q2: Is there a 'road map' of the cooling system on the V8 that's downloadable / available etc.

I gotta look in every possible place before pressure testing etc.

Q3: How reliable is the circulation pump?

Anyone ever known them to fail/ price/ fitting etc?

the hylomar sealant used in 2000 is not the same now its an improved formula like all selants they evolve.

if you have tightend all hoses and the rad core is ok the expansion cap seal is good I would dye penetrant test first if the liners are failing there may be CO2 gasses in the coolant its a good indicator at least.

dependant on water loss, mine was loosing 3ml per mile and the pressure test did not confirm liners the main suspicion was head gasket in changing that the liners had to be done and they were failing.

I dont want to sound pesamistic but your symptoms are exactly like mine were so I would be very suprised if its anything other.

Martyn, I can post you a copy of the CD manual if you wish? FOC of course.

As for the pump, it's the same as the Elan M100 pump I think and also the same as the Davies Craig and others that LEW users are using for the electric charge cooler pumps (I think). You want to get a new pump with a magnetic drive so it doesn't leak.
