Every day to occassional use

Recommended Posts

I am going to buy a budget runabout with back seats for the kids, but am worried that if I only use my Esprit at the weekend it could affect reliability?I have been using it everyday since October, except for its 6 week rest at the dealers!

Any opinions, expericences of this?

thanks a lot

James

Battery maintainer, garage/good car cover, weekly runs.

Later car like yours should be very little concern, mine was kept still for a long time - when i can to re-start it turned over the instant I hit the key and ran lovely - depends how you look after it...park it in a puddle expect probs, do basic maintenance and look after it should be fine.

Due to work and weather mine frequently spends 2-3 weeks without turning

a wheel this time of year. I drove it today (day off) and thats the first time it's

seen a dry road this year! Within a month or two i'll be using it every weekend

though.

It sits on a trickle charger all the time in the garage no probs. I always fit a new

battery at the very first sign of any trouble too. I like the fact it's there as my non

work related toy, also it could not carry as many tools/gear as my vans.

;)

TBH the amount of traffic on the road this afternoon, i could have made the same

progress in my van, and were i in the position of having to use the Esprit in traffic

every day, the magic would be 100% gone and i'd sell it.

As a toy, it's the best toy i've ever had. B)

so what are you buying for taking your kids?? (I would personally prefer a classic Porsche 928 or BMW 850

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I'd go for a 'used car dealer' style, jaguar XJ v12 saloon B)

Or a proper Land Rover.

2 words - World Cup

England games I have my hoon times booked - if MSC ever give my car back that is....

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I'm there mate. Everything on TV gets repeated forever anyhow.

I'm holding out for an England germany world cup final. Next big

royal funeral i'll be out on the road all day and still not miss any

of the days events, as they will be repeated and repeated on TV

forever anyhow. Does that sound bad? should we have to watch?

:)

Christmas day is a good day usually, I like the idea of a royal funeral, prehaps we could have one a week through summer please.

I remember water skiing on lake windermere the day charles and di the sloane got married , what at great day sunny and only 4 boats on the whole lake.....

Err, was gonna be a Rover 200 1997.... My Uncles cast off, but not anymore. Will probably look out for a 1.0 Nissan Micra! My wife's had one before and they are great - in a small car way, so economical.

It kinda helps complete the line up outside my house anyhow - Skoda, Micra, Esprit.....
