Boost gauge

Recommended Posts

Anybody have a photo of a nice boost gauge installation. I'd love to have the info the gauge gives, actually an oil pressure gauge would be nice also.....

I just don't want the car to look like some boy racer automobile with huge tacky gauge pillars and so forth. I'm not running LeMans or reading Sport Compact Magazine just to go ape over bolt-ons.....

Curious if there is a classy way to do this, that would resemble a factory type job...

I did by the way search some older posts. Didn't find much. Any ideas?

Ian:

Try this link for a pretty good idea to install a gauge.

Scroll down to the bottom. I'm still waiting on the matching leather from Lotus to wrap the "A" pillar gaugue pod.

I'm installing a Race Tech gauge which is both an oil pressure and oil temperature in one gauge. There is a back lit oen available. See link below:

Good luck!

Thanks,

I like that, it doesn't look too tacky....Curious as to where you will be putting the oil pressure/temp gauges...

Thanks again,

Ian

Ian:

The oil pressure/temp gauge will be fitted per the photos on the "A" pillar. I assume you mean the sensors for the gauges. If so, the temperature sensor will be fitted to the oil pan where the sensor for the drain plug resides and I'll install a "T" fitting where the pressure sensor for the idiot light now resides just aft of the oil filter mounting. This way I can keep the idiot light and have the actual oil pressure.
