OZ Futura Split Rim Refurbing

Recommended Posts

We Split, Rebuild, Refurb & Polish two and three piece wheels. We also offer a service to redrill wheels, changing the PCD of them. So if you have a set of wheels that would be great for your car but the fitment is wrong then we can weld up the original fitment and redrill the new one. This can only be done in about 90% of cases as we have to keep in mind the integrity and safety of the wheel. This can be done on one, two & three piece.

Please see some prices below, all are per set:

Upto 18"

Split & Rebuild: £180 + VAT

Powdercoat Centres: £80 + VAT

Polish Dishes: £80 + VAT

Powdercoat Barrels Satin Black: £60 + VAT

This is from these people, they've recently done Nick Nunn's wheels and he seems pleased with them (which is very good for the company, Nick is not a man to be messed with, he's well armed!)

I'm here!

I didn't realise I couldn't take PMs, might have to upgrade then.

I looked for ages to get my wheels redone after the laquer went bad on a very expensive refurbished set soon after I bought them from some Lotus specialist in the South West.

Voodoo, stripped them down and polished them up very nicely. No laquer this time. I was happy with the job and the price at the time was very reasonable. ( I didn't require the middle parts doing, just the dishes polishing.)

Bumping this thread.

Does anyone have any up to date recommendations of where to get this done and done well? Everything I have found so far seems well out of date with websites no longer available.

Mine are so bad one wheel is losing between 0.1 and 0.2 bar per day and two others aren't far behind it.

Thanks in advance.

I saw @red bullet's Sport 300 wheels today and they are beautiful! I can't remember the name of the company though, based in SE London.

Don’t bother refurbishing them, it’s like painting the Forth Bridge.

Buy new Radinox mirror-finish stainless outer rims from Felgenfuchs, and fit them instead. You’ll never need to do them again.

Thanks all.

@Chillidoggy  did you just buy the outer rims as the inside and the cap look pretty good too.

I need to find out which sizes I need and I still need to find someone competent in assembling them, which seems to be the problem with all the wheel refurb companies out there.

I took the centre, the inners and caps to a wheel refurbisher to get spray painted. Disassembly and reassembly is a DIY job. I used new chromed bolts and locking nuts. Felgenfuchs sell those, too.

Just be aware that there is a small difference from the OZ original, in as much as the rear outer is 0.25" wider than the standard.

Thank you very much.

Does that change in size mean any changes are needed to the tyres, rest of the wheel etc.?

No, there’s nothing else to change. You just need the tools to disassemble/reassemble, and the sealant. There are no seals or O-rings.

take a look at my S4s refurb thread, I think page 70 onwards. There’s some info about the wheels in there.
