I just cant believe this.

He's not gonna have a chute - because a fall from there will just bounce off the structure and kill him anyways, he's likely dead before he hits the ground.

Similarly when he's climbing there is no aparent means of safety, that bit when he is climbing that 2 bolt either side ladder is insane, any wind or vibration, a wrong foot and he's gone....I mean thats a HUGE risk assesment there, wtf dont they get a helo to dangle him onto there, its a lot safer and cheaper than paynig out the H&S fine when the guy fell off !

I've done a climbing course with the police and we climbed about 300ft and my forearms were KILLING me becuase of the time we took holding on and the grip - try it, get a ladder out and stand on the rungs for 30mins and see how much the lactic acid burns up.

I'd imagine that guy has huge grip strength.

When we climbed up a crane once I just couldn't orientate myself and was wobbling (vertigo) becuase at ground level you're used to ground references to keep your balance as well as senses.

Never ceases to amaze me what feats people are capable of.

Well I like a bit of a rush.....but I wouldn't be able to do the transition from the bolts to the beacon platform at housetop height let alone another third of a mile higher!

These guys have serious thrill issues and I don't think they could pay me enough.

What would these guys do when they weren't at work for thrills???

Forget about the "balls" part. . I never did have the physical ability to climb that high, let alone these days. My fall wouldn't be very far (but still could kill me just as good without all the work up front) devil.gif

What's the prob ?

I used help a chum maintain an automated storage system, no where near that high, but enough for the fall to kill you, I'm so light that a recoil harness kept try to pull me off so couldn't use it, just had walk along a 4" wide beam, that's wider than my foot so plenty of room, no problem.

Wouldn't do it now though. shock.gif

Just showed my son and my wife. My son's eyes just got bigger and bigger and he said "These guys have got some serious balls!" My wife had to leave the room as she was feeling sick.
