Felix, could you tell us please what lights did you get, where and how much. I like the smoked look and the red horizontal "stripe" at the top. It would look good with my red car.

John, I purchased the lights from these guys... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-83-87-TOYOTA-COROLLA-TRUENO-AE86-TAIL-LIGHT-SR5-GTS-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem588a828694QQitemZ380280931988QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

The lights are good quality. The only thing I had a problem with was their postage. It was expensive and it took over a week to get to Canada.... The lights came clear, so I tinted them black before I put them on the car. I will try and up load some video next week.

Cheers

Felix

'fraid so - you've set them so that you're ready for driving in your homeland of America. (:D) In the UK the fog light needs to be anywhere bewteen the middle and the right hand side of the car. It's purely so that in low visibilty, drivers behind you don't think your car is narrower than it really is.

Not a problem mate, I will switch the reverse and the fog lights around... When I move back to Canada I won't have to worry about a fog light and once again have two reverse light.

  • 1 month later...

Felix,

Great, looks pretty good. Are the mounting points the same as Lotus, how is the fit?

I found a similar smoked lights in Asia;I'm concerned about quality and tolerancing (there no such word in Chinese).

John, they have the same bolting points... I had to trim about an 1/2 inch off each side of my licence plate holder and sand of a little nipple on the lights itself.

Cheers

Yes, the same!

The first rule of shopping:

Since the same factory in China is making them every day, the over-supply is growing. Only if you can wait, someone, somewhere will sell the same merchandise cheaper.

There is a seller in Australia, who started selling them 3 month ago for $256 plus 56 shipping. Now, Singapore is selling them at 50% discount.

I'll sit and wait...

LOL

Discussion would be incomplete without adding a link to the old thread on the same subject:
