TLF Indoor/Outdoor Covers for Evora...

Recommended Posts

Yes! It's very good (made by 'Specialised Car Covers'). Had one before.

8 weeks or so... that is where the discount comes from via TLF.

Just give Specialised a call and ask when it will be dispatched. (01943 864 646)

Their customer service is OUTSTANDING in my experiences with them 👍  Good choice by Bibs getting a deal with them :>)

Scarlett is tonight all tucked up in her nice new Onesie.  Thanks @Bibs I'm really chuffed with it.

Received my cover which is excellent quality and fit. Well worth the money; especially with the TLF discount included. Thanks @Bibs

Now ordered a car cover also

The outdoor covers are slightly delayed to around 6 weeks at present from the usual 4 weeks due to unprecedented demand. Yours should be ready any day now, we had a couple go out yesterday which were ordered just before you Paul. Apologies for the delay.

Hi Bibs, I've just ordered an indoor cover for my Evora GT410 Sport and am now slightly confused. Just as I clicked on the order button, I realised, too late, the image shown for the car wasn't the one I uploaded of my car and appears to be one of your library pics of a green cover. Is that right or have I done something wrong in the ordering process please? I'd hate to end up with one in the wrong colour. :no

Hi bibs.  I would like to order an outdoor car cover but the shop link does not give an custom options namely a Lotus logo.  I assume the standard £250 price does not include a lotus logo.  If not how much extra will it be and how do I spec it on your store.

Thanks

Sorry, you can't have a logo on the outdoor covers, the application would ruin the weatherproofing.

^^^ This something that I have wondered since my car shipped in a fair bit of water whilst left out in a downpour of biblical proportions in France this August, traced back to a distorted door seal once we were back home.

Would there be a market for a “Shower Cap” type cover over the cabin extending to just beyond the door mirrors, which could perform the function of protecting any vulnerable areas from water ingress (shouldn’t be any I know ) and all of the glass from winter frosts when/if left outside

Whilst also able to use as a "sun cap" for the summer to stop the interior baking and the colour being drained out of your leather etc?  Dual use would make it even more marketable i guess.

Alcohol. Sex. Tobacco. Drugs. Chocolate.  Meh! NOTHING in this world is as addictive as an Evora +0. It's not for babies!

Where would it attach? I can't think of a decent mounting solution for something like this.

Bungee on to wheel spoke?

It's a sail effectively, it will move in the wind and even a soft clip could/would mark the wheels.

Over the door mirrors (as per the full covers) and perhaps a strap to secure and a padded bungee around a spoke on each of the rear wheels? I had a similar cover for my Elise and never had any trouble with that blowing away (attached at door mirrors only most nights), it was a heavy weight material admittedly.

I had overnight use in mind to keep the frost off the windows and door seals. If it was forecast to be windy then I wouldn't fit it.

It is the attachment at the rear which is problematic.

Front would be under wiper with raised strip (as per original Elemental Shower Caps for Elise & VX220) and over the door mirrors.

Only way I can think of the rear is to leave the tailgate glass exposed and bring the cover under the tailgate attaching each side to each other to secure it whilst the tailgate is raised with final securing against the wind being trapping the cover in the tailgate when it is closed. Thinking about it, this could result in water ingress through the top of the tailgate so, alternatively it could be secured in the tailgate channels using heavy duty Velcro, again similar as to how the Elemental Elise/VX Shower Cap attaches to the underside of the roll bar cover. Need to have a good look at if this bloody rain here today ever stops.

Difficult to explain so I hope it makes sense.

Didn't seem much enthusiasm for this sort of thing when I enquired on a the playground thread.

The A pillar and boot are areas I've had issues with (to varying degrees), so would want both covering.

Under the wiper and round the mirrors works fine at the front on the Elise so don't see why similar couldn't be done for the Evora.  Covering the boot would probably be more tricky.

The full covers are just too much for an everyday car.

P.S. I really think 'the playground' thing is really childish, regardless of how/why it started.

Nigel, I can’t see where such a cover could be fitted at the rear if the boot area was to be incorporated.

I had a good look a few days ago and can only come up with the suggestion of fitting to the inside lip of the Sail Panel via heavy duty Velcro.

This would be consistent with the Velcro fitting to the VX/Elise under the roll bar cover and would have the benefit of 1 rain cap type cover fitting both Evora S1 and 400 models.

@PaulCP - I was wondering if it'd be possible to use the boot lid to trap the side / rear edges of a cover, but probably not.  Any photos of your distorted door seal? - PM if you prefer.

The velcro talk had me confused - there isn't any on the Elemental for the S1 Elise.  It hooks into the holes in the buttresses used for the long tail soft top with a third point over the radio antenna.  If fitting on top of the soft top, the same fittings just wrap over the tails of the roof.

@nigelh I believe the securing of the Elemental cover for the VX/S2 Elise is as I described, it certainly was for the VX.

Your idea could work if it could be made a tight fit to prevent the “sail effect” that @Bibs mentioned.

@Bibs Just ordered a new outdoor cover as my current one, which had become a tight fit after the addition of a front splitter and an extended rear diffuser, was in no way going to fit over the GT4 wing.

Email sent with some pics from various angles to save you having to pull them from my posts on here.

Hi Bibs, do you have any idea when my indoor cover might be ready please?

btw, I understand you will be at Mr H’s bash on November 3rd. I’ll say hello to you there. 👋
