Rubber Floor Mats

Recommended Posts

I'm somewhat precious of the interior of my Evora, and always try to source a set of rubber floor mats for winter use, to keep the carpets in good condition - especially gien the slushy mess our pavements are car parks etc are in the this time of year.

Has anyone sourced suitable rubber mats for the Evora, or can recommend some alternatives which have been made to fit?

I agree with simonb 100%. You would have to buy sheet rubber (or very large rubber mats) and cut to size - not easy to make a neat job. Floor mats (footwell carpets) look great, and will keep everything immaculate for when you sell the car.

Try www.autostyle.co.uk/index.asp

They do mats for the Evora, and I've just ordered a set for mine. It's due on 1st January, and I wouldn't like to mess up the interior during lousy weather. I've had Autostyle mats on four cars so far, and they've been excellent. Not cheap, but well worth the price.

Make sure to fit them securely, or you'll end up with Toyota Prius disease....!

Cheers,

I did it otherwise: put in a newspaper in the footroom and signed around the corners. then took the newspaper out and put it on a ordinary rubber bought in a carsupply store. then cut out along the newspapers edge and the rubber protection is done. Buy a thin rubber=easier to cut and saves weight. to fix it on the ground i used a Velcrotape (hook and loop)

This might not be a relevant answer for Scotland, but here in the USA I was able to purchase some from AutoAnything.com. Several have purchased varying styles of carpet mats, but I needed something to hold up against the Salt Lake City winters, so I bought the Lloyd all-weather rubber mats.

All Weather Mats

I bought a 4pc set in black. They come with a velcro strap to hold them in place. The rubber is very durable, yet relatively thin so they fit well without much intrusion.

Hope that helps.

Gents,

Thank you for the various options.

Hegg - I much prefer what you have achieved, and it's similar to what I was looking for. I'll keep an eye out for something similar this sid of the pond.

In the short term, I bought a couple of universal mats which cut to fit, and they are good enough to see me through the next few weeks, keeping the carpets for the better weather.

Thanks again, and best wishes to all for 2011.

Back in my Elan days, I gladly coordinated making a pile of purchases for a cam belt change (parts were cheap and accessible over here) and then sent them in one big shipment to the UK where another forum member distributed them amongst the participating buyers.

If you're interested, I would be willing to do the same for the floor mats here. It'd work out best and save the most on shipping/customs/duty/whatever if there was a group buy of several people. Or if there's just you, I'd be glad to buy and ship it over to you as well.

Happy to help either way if it's of interest.

That's a very kind offer, however, I'll keep an eye out locally in the short term. You never know, I may well be in touch.

Thanks again - it is much appreciated,

Derek
