Guys,

Enjoy the shoot. As per usual I will not be able to make this one. However for once it is not for business reasons but due to being on holiday.

The Evora will be with you in spirit, as it will be at the Mugello circuit in Italy hopefully basking in the warm sunshine and watchin Rossi grab an Ducati/Italian victory.

Sorry I can't make it (again) but have a good time.

Cheers

George

Okay here we go. The final details. :animier:

We are going to do this at Knockhill Race circuit on the 3rd July around lunchtime. However the great news is that day there is a full programme Scottish Motor Racing Club race meeting on, and we are going to be involved in some crowd entertainment at lunchtime while the Marshals are having something to eat.

We are going to be allowed to take the cars onto the track around 12:30 (racing dependant) for a colourful `grid` type photograph. A grid full of Evoras should be fairly impressive. Photographs will be taken from the Bridge elevated camera position for those that know the layout, so the colours should be clear from above and all in shot. Depending on numbers we may try other arrangements but time will be of the essence. During this time it is likely somebody will be interviewing a representative on the circuit PA & Radio station (MW 1602) :bounce:

After the static photography session I have arranged for us to be allowed a few `brisk` laps behind the pace car and the cars will be photographed lapping. :scared: Not compulsory. This is about getting as many colours together.

Before and after this we are going to be given our own area of the paddock to set up our cars as we wish and generally mingle. this means we will not be out on the dustbowl round the track getting the cars filthy. Brandon from Murray Motor Co is joining us and will be on hand to get to know us all better and sell you the S if you blink! :gathering:

After the photo and track session I am hoping depending on the time available to bring over one of the Scottish Motorsport Marshals Club Rescue Units that I normally marshal on and let you see some of the cutting equipment and other toys we carry. Each van carries about £35K of gear. This depends largely on our location and time constraints though.

We are getting half price entry at £6/adult and £3 per child 12-16. <12 is free. You can arrive as early as you wish and qualifying and racing will be from 09:00 I think. Leave as late as you wish and will be free to go and watch the racing anywhere round the track although the hairpin will be nice and close. On arrival drive up to the competitor entry and main gate and you will be directed from there to our `stand` area. It would be good if the majority can get there fairly early so we can plan our layout. I`ll be asking for approximate time plans below.

This race meeting also has a visit from the Mazda MX5 championship which will race 3 times. They are usually very close racing and I believe that the MX5 owners club are also getting out on track for a display at lunchtime so we have to be seen to out do them! We may not manage the same numbers but should be louder and more impressive!

The other racing are all Scottish championship races for Formula Fords, Legends, Mini Cooper Cup, Classic Sports & Saloons, Sports & Saloons, XR2`s and Fiesta ST`s. All these races are generally quite close racing and if you haven`t been before well worth a day visit. For more details about anything Knockhill visit the website here

There are a few places to sit down and eat or use the inevitable resident burger vans from `Danny` Even the toilets are very good these days, so ladies you do not have to worry! (Not that I have been in them!!!)

So using the original list of suspects can we use this to confirm again and give an approximate idea of your intended stay there. Any more to add? Hopefully there will be more there as Brandon is going to mailshot other non Forum owners for us.

We would like to have thrown this open to a wider car selection but it is just Evoras I am afraid, or it all gets too tight to achieve anything. Still come along and join us in the paddock however.

1. Al. (Allan) Aquamarine & Silver wheels. Confirmed. All day.

2. Bingoking (Brian) Solar Yellow & Stealth Only possibly brought by son Poor excuse of Take That in O2 arena. Pah.

3. Justin182 (Justin) Chrome Orange & Black Confirmed. Times?

4. Andrew C (Andrew) Burnt Orange & Stealth (Confirmed up for it)

5. Derek & Karen (guess!) Storm Titanium & Stealth

6. Rhuadh08 (Paul) Carbon Grey & Stealth

7. McNab (Ian) Carbon Grey & Silver (Confirmed up for it)

8. DouglasGDMW (George) Black (not sure which?) & Silver. Poor excuse of a holiday

9. Karen (hmm difficult)

10. Footsoldier (Mark) Are you up for this? You are white aren't you from memory?

11. Sbfdave (Dave) Solar Yellow & Silver (Confirmed up for it)

12. trek930 (Neil) Laser Blue & (silver)?? (Confirmed up for it)

13. Brandon red/white or if no Brian or other Solar Yellow one of them Confirmed. Times?

Any doubts or questions please post here or PM me. There is no such thing as a silly question. Only poor instuctions.

Remember Knockhill is on a Scottish moor in middle of nowhere. We can have 3 or 4 seasons in one day so come prepared with options in the car. I will bring along a Gazebo to give some shelter.

Gutted that I can't make it due to said concert in London (Wembley). Not sure if No1 son can make it either as he is off the following weekend to go to British GP and doesn't think he will get 2 weekends off on the trot.

As of this post, the list I am posting will include non Evoras for the Breakfast Club which we are now going to combine this month for anybody interested. Due to a busy lunchtime schedule at the race meeting it will still just be the Evoras on track for the shoot for definite. However depending on circumstances on the day the rest of the posse may be allowed to join in during the drive round behind the pace car. However I cannot promise this, so please do not set your heart on it although I am optimistic. Part of the problem is race meetings lunch hours can be very short if lots of racing incidents in the morning

So the list so far and we need to start getting this firmed up with some numbers to get an idea of what we are going to have on the day is as follows.

If you are coming in a Lotus other than an Evora can you just list your name without colours. Thanks.

EVORA:

1. Al. (Allan) Aquamarine & Silver wheels.

2. Justin182 (Justin) Chrome Orange & Black

3. Andrew C (Andrew) Burnt Orange & Stealth

4. Derek & Karen (guess!) Storm Titanium & Stealth

5. Sbfdave (Dave & Sharon) Solar Yellow & Silver

6. Brandon red or white or something anyway!

Carbon Grey & Silver Evora.

Ideal arrival time?

Will they insist on helmets for those driving round the circuit?

Thanks Ian,

Time wise the racing or day will be live from 08:00 onwards so there will be something to do and watch. I will be there for 08:00 myself. The photo shoot part should be around the 12:30 mark I am hoping but that is a moveable feast as dependent on so many outside influences. Basically I would guess around 9 or 10 would be good if only coming for a short period of chat, banter, bacon buttie and car porn.

No helmets will be required as we will not be allowed to go too fast as behind the pace car.

EVORA:

1. Al. (Allan) Aquamarine & Silver wheels.

2. Justin182 (Justin) Chrome Orange & Black

3. Andrew C (Andrew) Burnt Orange & Stealth

4. Derek & Karen (guess!) Storm Titanium & Stealth

5. Sbfdave (Dave & Sharon) Solar Yellow & Silver

6. Brandon. Ardent Red probably (if not sold) but something anyway!

7. McNab (Ian) Carbon Grey and Silver

Great! Another colour. That is good. Are you coming down from the Aberdeen area? My son saw a Laser Blue up there recently. Currently on my phone so will update the list when home on Thursday.

Will we need to bring our crash helmets for the track laps? Given that we're probably goinig to be going at a sensible pace, I'd doubt it but thought I'd ask.

Karen

Edit! Just read page 2 and see that we don't.

Answering from my phone so brief for now but I have had another 2 volunteers from outside the Forum thanks to Brandon contacting all other Scottish owners outside the Forums for me.

Another Solar Yellow and a Carbon Grey I think from memory. The more the merrier anyway.
