For a good upgrade that doesn't cost much, I wemt for a big disc upgrade, 323mm slotted fronts and 321mm slotted rears. I used my existing Brembo calipers. These are now spaced out to suit the new set up. I also have Hawk fast road pads in the front. Got this kit from PNM Engineering.

A big difference to the braking but not the pedal feel, it's all down to the master cylinder. It also looks the dogs bollocks too!

Hi all,

I was wanting to upgrade my brakes and wondered what other people have done and what they thought? Also the possibility of changing the master cylinder to get more feel and power

Mine were the same as yours. 285mm fronts, approx 300mm rears.

Have a look at the pictures of this site

if its a brembo s4/v8, it'll have 296 vauxhall style front discs with the differential 4 piston black brembo calipers, and the 300mm rear solid discs with the tasty handbrake calipers.

if its a poverty spec s4/se/late S3 like mine it'll have miniscule 258mm melted to a certain early death (FFS, how sodding small!) front celica discs, and 274/275mm bendix rear discs/calipers off of some hideous french rubbish motor vehicle. best off sorting it out with an upgrade kit

I can't believe they fitted these to something with 265bhp, they're crap on my Excel SE with only 180bhp - I had brake fade on my second lap at Goodwood! ... Not only are they small, but they're only 20/22 mm thick so warp at a lower temperature than chocolate.

I'm in the process of fitting the PNM HiSpec 285mm kit to the Excel which should improve matters whilst fitting inside the original 15" wheels.

In the end, I think there were two black, two white and one light blue Sport 350's in the UK, all the others were silver.

I think there's another black one in the USA, 8 Sport 350's made it to the USA.

Mine was an ex-directors car, he went for the JPS colours with gold wheels, gold badges, black AP calipers, and no blue bits in the cabin like all? the other Sport 350's.

I love it, I just hope it doesn't break for a while!
