Accident last night

Recommended Posts

So, nice old lady decided to change lanes.....wish she had looked first.

She side smacked my beautiful Esprit, and forced me into the kerb style central reservation. OUCH

So, HELP - Need to find a set of OZ Futuras; Have tried Lotus - no help

I have emailed OZ, but just wondered what help anyone on here might be? Direct Line have indicated they are happy to replace wheels IF I can find some. I am certain that at least one is written off

So I suppose the other option is to have them refurbished - the 3 that can? - and if so, where?

Oh, some pictures for you all

:(

I'll make a couple of calls for you. BJV Engineering refurb splits - armynick has his done and it was cheap and he's very pleased with the results from them.

Make sure that the bodywork gets done by a properly competent outfit. Much more than obvious damage may have been done....I had a French White Van Man smack into the rear when stationary in a jam on the Peripherique....that was three years or so ago...and the hairline cracks have just come through the paint over the rear nearside wheel arch. No sign at all of any damage there after the accident.....just seemed to be the spoiler and the bumper...lots of work to get it sorted now.

Sickening, isn't it? Just like you...no way of avoiding it. Ugh.

Bad luck on the scrape.....If I can be of any help, please use my experience, I deal with insurance co. all the time, and no the pit falls , Gel crack is a major problem long term and must be addressed at the start... An experienced f/glass repairer should quote this not a general body shop, the man who quotes should see the engineer to explain the details as the quote will contain unseen damage.. I am happy to Travel to you and assess your situation and advise what your quote should include, also point out the flex areas where gel crack will appear. I have long experience in this sort of repair and no how important it is to get right first time.. If you wish to take me up on this offer let me know when is convenient and i will pop over...

Happy to help

Dave

Hi Dave.

That is a very kind offer, you'd be welcome to come over.

You 'deal with ins companies' > have I dropped a bollock? Do you actually do this work?

I have arranged with www.specialisedpaintwork.com for the work. Have a peek and see what you think.

I'd welcome you popping over to see if you think I should be worried about any damage underneath to any wishbones etc.....

The people you have arranged with are saying they are Lotus approved. so should be ok...!!!!! I will tell you more when i see you. ie.. what to look for.!!!!

As i deal with insurence co. and do this sort of work for a day job, i will be able to point you in right direction... Hopefully stop problems before they arise, you would not belive some of the things i have heard and seen, its a jungle out there :rtfm::sick:

Chat soon

Argh - not good.

Specialised are superb. They are my paint partners and paint all my cars whenever needed. In fact, Alan was on the phone last night asking for me to keep an eye open for some wheels for you.

As Bibs has mentioned, SWS may help. and I think from images that these just may be salvable.

Rest assured on Specialised though - they are top notch, and Alan is a Lotus man.

Best,

Scott - Scott Walkers.
