Squeak

Hi,

Has any post 98 V8 owner's had and cured a squeak that appears to come from the general area behind the radio or heater controls,it's worse when the car is cold and very hard to pinpoint whilst driving.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Have you taken the radio out to have a look?

I have the same rattle. I think it is the radio trim / faceplate trim. When I hold the trim while driving the rattle goes away. I am not sure if there is anyway to tighten it, might have a stereo shop look at it and give their recommendation.

On the S3, there is an antisqeak mat on the chassis backbone just under the radio area. I know because I have forgotten to install one after chassis change. Arse.

I dont know what you can do if its that having deteriorated....
