USAndretti42
Went on the US Ebay site today to see what Lotus were up for auction and there were only 8 cars on there. There were over 40 the other day. Spring is in the air, the trees are in blossom. The daffodils are out. The clocks have changed. So it's the classic time for selling sports cars. So where are they? OK, some auctions have finished but I haven't seen so few on there for as long as I can remember (that's not as long as it used to be, unfortunately). Look for "Lamborghini/Other" (i.e. not Murcielago, Gallardo or Diable) and there are none not even a kit car. Regularly it shows about 5 to 10 cars. 7 MGs, 2 Triumphs, no Austin Healeys, 7 pre-360 Ferraris, 6 old (up to and including the DB7) Astons. Still lots of Porsches. Why is this? What could have caused this sudden shortage? jamesws1
Don't know how you got to this, but click on Ebay at the top left. Then under used, select Lotus and the following comes up: http://motors.shop.ebay.com/Cars-Trucks-/6001/i.html?LH_ItemCondition=2%7C0&_dmpt=US_Cars_Trucks&_flso=0&_mak=Lotus&_mod=-1&_sop=7&_rdc=
USAndretti42
Well, bugger me. I've been using that link for months. I see now that it's for certified cars only. Damn! I wonder how many good cars I've missed? Thanks for pointing out the error of my ways, James. I don't know how I got that link. Bookmark changed. Hmmm. I changed the bookmark twice but it still takes me to the certified cars only. I'll have to stop being so lazy and get to it the long way. Petrol feet driven
Check this little project out, with the Lotus sale on it can be done even cheaper. (if they have the parts) GT3 crashed but I think worth it. I'm gutted I dont have the money for it right now.

USAndretti42
I know that, Bibs but I'm sort of lusting after a +2 or a Europa TwinCam, maybe an Elite although a nice N/A G-car would do. I'm not too picky. Quote S4 Elan, Elan +2S, Federal-spec, World Championship Edition S2 Esprit #42, S1 Elise, Excel SE
Iconic Ride
Lust no more, Trevor. 1974 LOTUS EUROPA id:8430 Burlingame, CA contact info interior-color:Tan transmission:Manual fuel:Gasoline drive-type:2WD details:Leather Interior, Warranty transmission_details:5 Speed country:United States state:CA zip:94010 city:Burlingame make:Lotus model:Europa price:$38,000 currency:USD mileage:1586 year:1974 $38,000 I believe Burlingame is but a short hike north of your current location, no? Bit pricey, but consider the milage (if it's real). But I'm sure you knew about this one already? Oooops! Just tried the "contact" link, and it's vaporized into the ether. Must be an old ad. Still, I'll leave the post up as an "incentiviving" tease. Happy hunting! Cheers, John Quote Being second is to be the first of the ones who lose. USAndretti42
I had stumbled across that ad. It's weird. It will be on Craigsist for a day or 2 then disappear for a couple of weeks and then reappear. I think it's been on there about 3 times so far.
