Ok guys & gals,

The plan is to take advantage of what will hopefully be quiet roads on the day of the big wedding.

I fancy a trip to the seaside so the idea is to visit Barmouth for lunch before returning home.

We'll be setting off from RAF Cosford as usual, probably about 10.30am

So all those with buckets & spades please sign on below:

Cheers - I'll have to play it by ear...

SWMBO will be glued to the TV but I'll have to add up my brownie points before dissapearing all day - she might of course prefer a day at the seaside...

Great pics Nige ................... you've made Barmouth look very tropical

It was indeed a good day spoilt by all the bloody traffic on the road :realmad:

Didn't people know there was a Royal Wedding taking place?

Instead of the empty roads we dreamt of we had to deal with lines of traffic most of which seemed to be heading for Barmouth.

Managed a few tasty overtakes ( always an advantage of being Flight Leader  ) before landing in Barmouth and parking on the sea front.

Fish & Chips were soon ordered and quickly scoffed followed by 99 ice creams all round.

Brilliant sunshine as the pictures show. Locals were "wowed" by our departure with many recording us for posterity.

Initially the roads back were empty and we were able to make good progress ( thanks to those travelling in the opposite direction for the Scamera Van warning  )

Things slowed up again on the Welsh side of Welshpool but we were soon back in England with passports duly stamped.

Lost Nigeninja and Dodgy at some stage and Ade's intended exit for Bridgnorth didn't seem to materialise. What happened Ade?

Hopefully more pics later ( Ade seemed to take quite a few ) and don't forget next months sees us visiting some of the best beaches in the Staffordshire Moorlands

Until then gentlemen

Good day out and certainly better than watching the Royal nuptuals. As Graham said lot of folks had the same idea so it was not the blat we imagined. I also think I got done with a radar gun as i was overtaking up a hill just outside Welshpool, but hay ho all part of the game.

Graham, I never come off at the Bridgenorth turning as is a slow road, I always come off at the A442 junction on the M54 (the one after you got off)

Here are some of the piccies I took, in case anyone is wondering yes this is actually Barmouth which is in Wales not on the Med near Monte as the photo's might suggest.
