Will Lotus new cars be built at Hethel?

Look at the bright side, at least we agree building their own engine isn't the way to go with the current timeline :D and Jonathan makes a good point!

The application closing date for Round 2 is 1st July so it will be several weeks after that before the successful bidders are announced. There is over £1b available in Round 2 so maybe Lotus have a better chance in this round. It would be sad if Lotus miss out given JLR, Bentley and Nissan have all benefited in Round 1.

The argument that Lotus has been spending money on 'marketing' such as its F1 sponsorship so it doesn't deserve any Government moeny is spurious to say the least. All of the above are currently or have in the recent past been engaged in very expensive racing programs. And Bentley is owned by VW, one of the most profitable manufacturers out there, despite sinking money into Audi's racing efforts!
