LEGS Breakfast Club Sunday 8th May

Recommended Posts

Usually the first Sunday of the month but the May meeting will take place on the 8th May.

Unfortunately the proposed venue for the June LEGS breakfast meeting in St Andrews Square, Edinburgh is not possible.

Taking up Andrew C's suggestion, permission has now been granted to park up in the pedestrian area of The Grassmarket, Edinburgh in front of Petit Paris who will be opening earlier for us for the next breakfast meeting. According to Andrew, the owner of Petit Paris is a petrol head.

A Continental breakfast will be on offer.

No need to book, just turn up for the banter between 10:00am and midday. :gathering:

Please add your name to the list to indicate potential numbers.

I am e-mailing Andrew to see if he knows if we have to enter by one particular road for access as it it is now pedestrian area? Very often these things are one way in/out.

Watch this space for feedback.

It would be churlish not to.

I've just been told it definitely is a pedestrian area and lo and behold, on checking on Google Streetview, there's the navvies doing the actual conversion!

Does anybody fancy meeting up on the outskirts and cruising into city centre and parking up in convoy? If interested I was thinking of the entrance to the Hermiston Gate retail park where we met up previously for one of our runs at say 09:30? Is fairly easy access from all directions and from there into town which may be best by the Western Approach road and down the back of the car park on the Kings Stables Road. I haven't heard anything back from Andrew about best approach although was speaking to an Edinburgh resident who thought the whole area was pedestrianised over weekend. Anybody know more?

Well I forgot to take my camera  (& wife) as we only went to bed at 02:00 and had to be up for 07:30 but we had a great turnout of 20 cars of all shapes and sizes there today in conjunction with Scottish Elises. :gathering:

I will look forward to seeing some of the probably thousands of photos taken today as we were in heart of Edinburgh below the castle in tourist season. 20 Lotus parked up in a pedestrian precinct next to the open topped tour bus set down and pick up point was always going to have the cameras out. We somehow managed to have warm and dry weather despite the thunderstorms all round that we had to drive through to get there. (50mph on M-way with wipers @ double speed) Lots of interested tourists asking questions about LEGS/TLF etc. We need a banner evidently although we did have some A3 posters on our dashes. The restaurant opened especially for us and had special menu's for a French breakfast. Yum yum. :pizza: Very reasonable cost also.

We also took a back up 7 car Evora colours shoot range of 6 colours. I will be posting more on that thread later about the proposal for the proper colour shoot.

Bring on the photographers!! :bounce:

As Allan has said 20 cars plus a TVR interloper (but the TVR owner's son does have an Elise). We also had 2 call offs.

Thanks to all the staff at Petit paris Restaurant for opening up early and providing a lovely french breakfast for us.

Thanks also to Andrew C for suggesting this venue and organising with the owner and the Council.

What a great way to spend a Sunday morning, and a breakfast which was more akin to a feast. Not sure when I'll need to eat again.

Some super shorts there Brian; you even managed to capture the sunshine.

Looking forward to June already.
