Despite the obvious benefits, the negative ones surrounding wrap seem to out weigh them.

Namely, wrap doesn't allow for much expansion and contraction of the metal, which can cause stress and cracking. Also that the wrapping tends to attract and absorb road salts and grime which accelerates corrosion.

In light of this, I too went for the ceramic coating.

I appreciate that it's not the case here but I understand the wrapping isn't recommended for turbo manifolds as it holds the heat in so keeping the manifold (& therefore turbo) hot after switching off & so making it more likely to carbonise the oil. thumbdown.gif
