Giorgio Hi Giorgo, Do you know what the markings look like on the carbs or engine markong? Quote Esprit S1, 238G, Blog Online Photo's This car was most definately hand built, NOTHING FITS! giorgio67 185
HI Mark, the engine marking has a two prefix letter on any lotus Esprit/Excel model. The first prefix letter could be C for Esprit or D for Excel model, the second prefix letter could be : A= HC engine B= HC PAS N= HC-PAS & A/C P= HC A/C Y= Esprit from Feb.1987 Also the carbs are of a different version called Tri-Jet dell'Orto DHLA 45D all the LC cars have the 45E model Again you can find LC or HC engine with ancillaries parts swapped on so the only secure way to identify is to check the Lotus marking on the casting. Hope that helps. Ciao Giorgio
