Alt belt length?

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Done a search but can't find the answer - does anyone know the alternator belt length?

My belt is squealing in the cold and dark so it needs changing, I was most annoyed as I planned taking it for a long run on Friday but it's beyond just tightening.

Does anyone happen to know what length I need? I hope to grab one this week and get back on the road!

Thanks

Rich

Not sure.of.the.length, but a Gates 6263MC is the one.

Mine is a Gates CM3626 which apparently equates to....

hmmm. Can't find it on the interweb or on the Gates website.

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

Opinions are like armpits. Everyone has them, some just stink more than others.

Thanks, had no joy with the GATES belt number above, but I have found 865 and 875 belts listed for the Esprit.

I'll get both and have a go (Only £1.80 each from halfords with a trade card...)

I use an 875 belt for the alternator, 865 for the vacuum/water pumps. Lotus used one size for both, but I can't remember which.
