been looking at that car, the bidding is being 'pushed' up by numnuts, if you compair the feedback of him and the seller, they both buy the same things, clothes mainly. he hid the same on a scooter the seller put on.

Dodgy

edit:

Q: hi, how long is the mot,how many owners and what is the year. Thanks.

23-Jun-06

A: mot is til oct 2006 it has had 6 owners including a dealer and it is a 1990 on a H

Q: A couple of questions. Does it have a V5? Is the exhaust S/Steel? What is the millage on the last two MOT's?

22-Jun-06

A: yes have v5 exhaust is stainless steel fitted by christopher neil specialist cars tvr lotus and noble milage on last mots are 75381 and 76177

if the cambelt was changed at 58k, its only done 2k in 2 years when was the other 17k miles done?

the first thing that should be done is not drive home, but straight to a lotus dealer/specialist to have the belt done.

all the info you need is on Lotus Esprit World (link at the bottom of the page) look for buying guides and also info on freescan, computer analasyis of the ECU

also for sale pages...look there then ask on here

someone off this site I am sure would be willing to go and look at the car with you just let us know when and where it is.

good luck, be prepared to walk away if needed, it can take a while to find the right car

Sounds cheap - in the immortal words of my learned friends - 'There is no such thing as a cheap Esprit'

Listen to what Kato has said already.

Check this out:

and consider the fact that it would cost at least double that money being asked for the one you are considering!!! And i still wouldnt accept that for my baby!!!

I doubt it will stay that price but good luck mate!!

SE is the business!!

If you're still interested in an SE, I'm thinking about shifting my SE Highwing.

It's a '93 on a K plate, 72k on the clock, C service last year.

Colour's not to everyone's taste but, coupled with the highwing, I'm reliably informed it's really rare.

There have been a couple of mods but nothing major - the SS clutch cable, some of Alan's lovely sills and, er... some

I'd be putting it up for 14k but would take 13k from a lister. PM me if you're interested.

Can only emphasize what everybody has said. If its cheap, there must be a reason. I found out the hard way. Found a cheap Esprit thinking it would be fun to spend a few quid getting it back to a good condition - about 6K's worth of fun so far! and other than tyres and some refurb alloys, it doesn't look any different from the day I bought it - alot of hidden spending. If you are good mechanically, which I am not, you can save yourself alot of labour costs, but dont just let any old mechanic do the jobs - look to see who has been recomended by this sites users. Good luck.

Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk - that will teach us to keep mouth shut!

Thanks for the offer mate. I would bite your arm of for that car at that price, but as you said the colours not doing it for me. Ive even tried to make myself like it but its not happening. Great looking motor matey....

Right next question, anyone in the London area close to Ilford, Wanstead, Leytonstone, Romford etc etc, who owns an Esprit? If you do, would one of you lot mind taking me for a spin in one..... And showing me around the car and letting me know what it is I should be looking out for when buying my own.

In return for the favour I'd shout you Lunch and few beers....

Also I wanted to spend around 10k am I going to find something for this in the SE range or will I have to extend my budget... Anyone know of any Esprit local to myself for sale. Im looking for Red, black or silver in colour, although maybe tempted by other colours.

Again many thanks Guys....

ICELED make the kits. I fitted them myself. You have to make brackets to hide the tubes as the underneath of the car is so smooth and it's hard to find a place to mount the rear tube. Aside from that, the trickiest thing was getting underneath the car in the first place :)

Fishy's got dibs on them if any who's interested in the car doesn't want them.

i actually like the colour Alex, not sure about the lights though :P

would love to have your SE but it would mean i would have to sell mine as i only have a single garage and cash flow is a bit of a problem :)

I think so especially if you want an SE. You may get a mint Turbo/NA but you MUST factor in a couple of grand for 'eventualities' and 'hidden costs'.

My advice is go and see a few if you can, different models, NA/SE/Turbo etc. i'd be happy to come with you and show you my car but you are the other side of town for me i'm West London/Surrey.

To be honest any car offered to you on here or LEW ought to be your first and only port of call in my opinion. You will not get better.

PM me if you want any more advice.

It's a doddle really. Like I said, getting underneath the car is the hard part.

They've got a remote control that allows you to turn them on or off as well as into 10 different modes.
