Vaxhall omega stalk.

Remove cowlling

depress clips top adn bottom

slide out

unplug

discard

unwrap new stalk

plug in

slide in until it clicks

replace column cowelling.

I used omega stalks with cruise control and computer buttons to give me stalk mounted radio controls

skip track up/down adn source on the left

Volume on the right

If I ever get round to it I'll wire in the variable intermittant wiper too...

Rich, those stalks are irrelevant to this thread unfortunately, they were introduced on the S4. Benjamin has the old leyland stalks.

You can pick them up from a breakers over here for about 50p, not sure if the gold bars will be required.

Does anyone know exactly what the 1990-93 stalks were off?

I've found Mini and Landrover ones that have the same stalk but the column attachment part is different. The only place I've found the right one is on SJ's site but they want £70!!

They look very much like Triumph Dolomite, Triumph 2000 or Morris Marina stalks. Definitely Lucas/British Leyland.

This is one where the column mounting end is different. My stalks each have a 'half moon' end and mount either side of the column itself. I can't see the back of this one but I'm assuming the silver plate is an integral part of the assembly and so it's not what I need.

I've re-assembled mine now after investigating why the indicator wouldn't cancel, to find a broken part.

 

The column attachment end looks like this one:

But with the stalk like the one you linked to on Ebay.

 

I know I'll probably need to bend the stalk arm but as yet i haven't been able to find the correct stalk/mount combo, apart from on the SJ site.

Yes, well I've already done quite a bit of searching and not managed to find anything. Hence I was hoping to 'short cut' things by finding someone here in the know...

There's an 88 turbo being broken in Germany on eBay. Check with them perhaps?

SJ list this specifically for the 1990-92 MY only so I assumed that an 88 would be different...

Did anyone find out if the mini part can be made to fit? as £100 for a bent mini indicator seems a tad expensive

Looks like a cross between: BAU5345 and a 13H7779 SQB168  (see ebay for pictures) Mini ones so maybe a customized version for Lotus.  

It is only the auto cancel that is broken on mine what I really want is an upgraded switch feel and auto cancel that works both ways. 

Has anyone found an upgrade that fits under the original column cover?
