LEGS Breakfast meet on 1st April at The Riverside Museum, Glasgow

Recommended Posts

Thanks to Dominic from SE for organising this one.

Our next Breakfast meeting is on Sunday 1st April at The Riverside Museum: Scotland’s Museum of Transport and Travel http://www.gl...es/default.aspx

A display area is being made available for us at the front of the museum for Lotus cars to park up in. Bring your cameras as this will be a great Kodak moment.

Arrive any time after 10:00am so we can organise the cars in time for the museum opening at 11:00am. Admission to the museum is free and the café is open at 11:00am for tea, coffee and cakes. Hot food will be available from midday.

As an extra if you want to visit the Tall Ship at the Riverside http://www.thetallship.com/index.aspx the admission charge will be waved if you show your Lotus key. The café on the Tall Ship is open from 10:00am but it is undergoing a re-fit at the moment and they can’t guarantee that they can serve hot food. We should know closer to the end of March.

So the plan so far and subject to final confirmation of timings and availability of hot food:

10:00am Arrive and park up in from of The Riverside Museum

10:00am The Tall Ship café open but hot food not guaranteed

10:30am Riverside Museum Café opens for Tea, Coffee and Cakes.

11:00am Riverside Museum opens for admission

12:00pm Riverside Café serving hot food.

A little bit different from the usual Breakfast meet but should be a good day out visiting The Tall Ship and The Riverside Museum.

Add your name to the list if you are interested, and please don't post on SE if you are on the list here.

Hi Brian, once again I am going to be back at work in sunny Baku however I will do the usual and pass the info to the guys. Can you do me a favour and in future send these emails to the club email at.

[email protected]

I can then forward them through our system without having to copy paste etc.

Any of your guys want a spot on our stand at Glamis, we have a couple going free for both Sat and Sun, if any interest get back to us soonest as all the info has to be sent in this weekend. £3.50 per car for the weekend, that includes postage for the tickets.

Thanks for the invite and have a great day out.

Cheers.

John.

John can you remind me of the dates and I will post this invite as a separate post and PM everyone?

I can also post it on the LEGS Facebook pages.

I've been rolling around under the car last week renewing brake pipes and overhauling the brake callipers (car has been off the road for over 2 years). I have a target of 6th April to have it on the road as we've booked a hotel in Pitlochry that weekend. Unfortunately I won't be able to make the 1st, don't think it'll be ready in time, sounds like it will be a good day.

Hi Brian,

Sorry we can't make this weekend, hopefully we'll be able to get together for the May meeting, and in the new car too.

Derek

You appear with the tedious inevitability of an unwelcome season.

Sadly I will have to withdraw as my Mother passed away suddenly this morning.

Dominic Shanahan (Dominic) on Scottish Elises has been organising this one. Check out that thread on SE for final details.

I know that the Riverside Museum would like all cars parked up in the display before 10:30 if possible

Brian

Sorry to hear that Brian, Jane and I send our condolences.

Unfortunately we can't make it this weekend as we are off to my brother-in-laws 50th down in Yorkshire. I hope it goes well for all those attending and the weather holds.

Gutted to have missed it. Looks like a great location. I still have to make a first visit and now seen it even more determined. Even the old location was a good day out when my kids were, well still kids, and not adults! I turned down an offer from a neighbour earlier in year as I was hoping to make our visit.

In Brian's temporary absence for personal reasons does anybody know what we are planning for 6th May as I am home and will help promote it on here?

Al.

Ditto. Looks like a great day out. I was down in North Yorkshire. Fantastic moorland roads, my old stomping ground, and I was in the Volvo with the in-laws. No Esprit. C'est la vie.

Looks like it was a great meet and some excellent photos.

In answer to Al.'s question, and I know he knows the answer, the next meeting will be at Petit Paris, Grassmarket, Edinburgh on 6th May.
