Lex Templar
Hi Everyone, After a long wait I have finally purchased a 1984 Esprit Turbo from England. A well known car over there with a lovely history file it will be arriving into Sydney mid-May. I know there are quite a few people on here that have dome a similar thing. In Sydney, who currently is the best person to use for an Engineers certificate and secondly who are the best Lotus Esprit Mechanics in Sydney. I look forward to meeting you all at some stage. A few pictures of teh car before it left the UK... Kind Regards, Alexander Edited April 6, 2012 by Lex Templar
stevem
Congratulations. The wait will seem forwever, but it will get here eventually and be worth it. I talked to a guy last week who said he recently imported an E-Type and just took it for a Blue slip and the RTA issued a rego for it, no questions asked. I can only assume he got lucky with a RTA person that didn't know the correct procedure, as he had no ENG certificate. I had mine done in Wyong, at Lakesedge engineering, but I thihnk the guy has retired now. the cost was about $300 but it might cost you more than that in the city. I can't help you with Lotus Mechanic sorry, I do all my own. The one and only quote I got for work was $1900 for a cambelt change, I did it myself in 4 hours and it cost less than $100 for bits. The so-called lotus 'specialist' in Sydney said it was an engine out job............... Too many Toys are never enough !
