Can't believe the difference the Elise Parts gear linkage kit with the short shift gear stick has made. I had the gear linkage fitted while having my cylinder head and gasket replaced without the gear stick about two weeks ago. I found it made a slight improvement when selecting gears. This weekend I fitted the gear stick and can't get over how good the short shift selection is. Gear selection was very sloppy and always crunched in reverse. Very happy bunny indeed! :)

My, recently purchased Elise K, 2002, is fitted with a short shift kit. I don't think it is correctly adjusted, where can find a guide on linkage adjustment?

I fitted the gearshift upgrade kit and while the specification stated the length of the tie rod should be 85mm mine adjusted to a perfect change at 75mm. Eg trial and error, it's a very easy adjustment but start at 85mm.

All done, just adjust the tie rod and wonder why who ever fitted it didn't bother to clean the threads up to shorten down to 7cm. Nice gearbox now. (I hate sloppy mechanics)
